Request:

I would love to be able to play "AION Free to Play (EU)" on my Mac without having to boot into Win 7 x64 all the time, If anyone could give it a try I`d be really thankful, because I`ve tried it in various ways but no success

Please make this happen!!!

Game Description:

Aion: The Tower of Eternity , also known as The Tower of AION in Japan, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released by NCSoft, a major Korean game developer.
The game combines PvP and PvE (a concept the developers call PvPvE) in a fantasy game environment. As of May 20, 2009, Aion has 3.5 million subscribers in Asia.
AION's first major expansion was released to North America and Europe on September 7, 2010 under the name AION: Assault on Balaurea.
On February 29, 2012 AION became Free-to-Play in Europe with a limited set of options regarding gathering, trade and chat, and truly free in the United States.

Actually, porting is a lot complicated and needs to be done for EU and NA separately, I tried lately to port EU version of Aion, but Gameforge Launcher does not wanted to start. Anyway, patching the game elsewhere, and then launching aion.bin with correct parameters runs the game. Game itself runs pretty good (Ingisson ~30fps, outside ingisson ~60 fps) on my mac with solid graphic settings (old graphic engine, settings details medium-high). I didn't make the wrapper, as it requires parallels/vmware/bootcamp to patch the game.
Aion NA is version 3.0 (did not tested at all)
Aion EU is version 2.7 (patcher/launcher is not working)

By "patching the game" do you mean, launching and updating for example on a Win 7 machine and then copying the folders to the wrapper? What should be the correct parameters when launching aion.bin, and how do I launch it, do I set the EXE path to aion.bin?
Could you please tell me how to do this? I`ve tried to copy my AION folder from Win 7 but I`m not sure if I set the correct path/parameters in the wrapper (using Wineskin)

Yes, you are right with the patching.
To start the game
1) Select Aion.bin as starting exe. (Wineskin wont let you to select it, so you need select another exe, and retype the aion.bin, or rename aion.bin to aion.exe). You must use aion.bin from bin32 directory
2) Check "use start.exe" checkbox (if you used aion.bin)
3) Enter these as additional starting parameters:
for EU:
-ip:79.110.83.80 -port:2106 -lang:enu -cc:2 -noauthgg -noweb -opengl
for NA:
-ip:64.25.35.103 -port:2106 -cc:1 -noauthgg -noweb -lang:enu

The IP may be different for NA (not tested)

Well, I did exactly as you explained but all I see is the splash screen but it`s blank and then nothing. I see the name at the menu bar but nothing happens <_< grrrrr
I`m installing .NET 3.5 with Winetricks to see if anything changes.

*Edit1* well after installing .NET 3.5 (with some errors in installation) I hit test run and the game started, but the graphics don`t show the correct colors, some clicks on the character selection bar don`t work and also if I pan the camera from middle to ground the color will start turning blue to a point where I can`t see anything but If I pan from middle to sky it shows the correct image, does it happen to you also, have you done anything to fix the graphics?
I`ve set "Screen Options" in wineskin to Fullscreen 1920x1080  24bit, also set override wine control of Screen settings with Auto Detect GPU Info for Direct3D

*I`m on an ATI HD5750 1GB DDR5

If there`s anything else I could do to improve in game quality please tell me.

****SOLVED****

Thank you for your help, you rule!!!! :)

1) dont use high quality graphic engine, it will produce weird foggy results.
2) Disable shadows (if possible)
3) try to install dxd9 via winetricks. I messed with my wrapper a lot (to get launched working) so I dont remember what all I've installed.

Anyway as I've written, I've tested only EU version (2.7), and I've didn't encountered any gameplay or graphics problems.

If you still encounter some issues, run game via test run and post the logs.

Ok got it running on Low Quality Graphic Engine, I still got minor issues like for example, outside Altgard Fortress sometimes the snow around the fortress doesn`t display correctly...but oh well I can live with it for now :)
But anyways it would be great if someone with more knowledge than me could make a fully working wrapper for AION but this is already a big step :)

*Edit 1* The game got an aion.bin error after I tried to use LFG Chat :P but that`s a minor issue, will post updates as I test it a little more ;)

THANK YOU a 10000000000000000000000000000000llion :)

*Time to go to bed now, if you still want me to post the logs let me know and I`ll post them later*

Sure, run via test mode, and recreate the crash. those logs can help investigate what went wrong....

I followed all of the instructions written here but the game always crashes right after I enter my pin when selecting a character. I'm not sure what I should do, I've already installed DX9 and .NET.

Well, those instructions were for 2.5, now the aion is 3.0 and the process may be different.
