I unchecked "Enable emoticons?" checkbox on new topic and reply BUT it can changed back automatically when I opened reply page next time. It's annoying.
Can ya add "Disable Emoticons as Default" checkbox in CP?
I like emoticon texts. :3

I also miss this setting, it was one of the things I liked in phpBB (I don't like posting emoticons, I prefer posting plain text)
IPB, sadly, doesn't seem to have an option to do that. But I can check if it's not too hard to add.
(Note: if I manage to do it, it'll only affect the default state of the "disable emoticons" checkbox in the reply page... in other words, it'll affect YOUR posts, while you'd still see other people's emoticons if they posted them as emoticons, just like we had in phpBB)
