Because Transgaming NEED money for making their new product like GameTreeTV.

Remember: Cider tools is NOT free because Transgaming always make great code like rich. They are used by publisher only. (Example: EA)

Btw, How did we lost CXZ/CXEx? Because CodeWeavers(Creator of CX) did broke it?

First, I don't think we should get that dramatic.. The Mac App Store version will eventually be cracked, which means that Apple's DRM will be removed or bypassed. Furthermore, there is a bare non appstore version, which could already be DRM free. As far as I know, the only DRM tg ever applied to cider is either App Store or Steam. Even in the case of steam, cider can be used to run steam apps with their appropriate steam cracks. I think I did that with an earlier 8xxx version.

In a quick view of the dasm'd code in the cider binary that I had, they seem to just use

ptrace(PT_DENY_ATTACH, 0, 0, 0);

to prevent the debugger from attaching to the process, and then a pthread check. If these two checks are successful, cider starts as it should.
So I'd say we wait a little before saying that it's over for cider ;)

Here's the application signature:

It's locked down because it's from App Store. A non App Store version of the game might have no DRM and it could work.

The game might have DRM, but the wrapper may not. The site reports that all the Sims 3 games have DRM as well (which is true) but all their wrappers are usable.

The only DRM I've come across in cider is steam, MAS, or CD Key (there's two flavours, EACDKey and TGCDKey). Any other DRM could be in the game's exe and not in the cider binary. The only DRM this one has though, is MAS. I've actually run something with this one, but it's useless because you can't edit the .plist, it's signed. Even so, you'd need a certain MAS crack, and run the exe from the original game directory.
