as 10.8 is just around the corner and the GM version is out . Its is now confirmed that most wineskin and cider wrappers work in 10.8 . So i think its time the wrapper info section got a 10.8 column .

I wont disagree there.. But some people might still have 10.4 on their machine and don't have the $ to upgrade but still want to play games on it. Why not have another colum just make it five. make it like this with the X and checkmark.

wineskin: 10.4 & 5 10.6 & 7 10.8
cider:  10.4 & 5 10.6 & 7 10.8
cxz/cxex:  10.4 & 5 10.6 & 7 10.8

Just a thought.

But majority of the wrappers don't even support 10.4 anymore , that's why it was suggested .

There are still some, but few, that use 10.4. It does not hurt anyone that it's there, and some of our ports works on 10.4 still.

Ok let say that the 10.4 is gone.. What happens to the people who have 10.4 can't play no more games and that they can't update their machine. How are you going to explain to them.

10.4 was a PPC OS, with a separate build for machines being sold to support Intel.  It was not sold very long at all before 10.5 came out which was the first true version that was designed for Intel support.  If someone is using 10.4, I just tell them to upgrade.  Every single 10.4 machine ever sold with an Intel process is perfectly capable of running 10.5.

Technically 10.5 costs 120$, that is if you can even get hold of a copy. However, one can just jump straight to Snow Leopard, but unless you already have leopard you will need to format your hard drive first. But, yeah, I agree with the general idea, there is no real reason for Intel user to stik to Tiger, which doesn't even get updates anymore.
Games I own that still need porting:
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Descent 3, Fallout, Space Rangers 2

With the new big cat coming out tomorrow, i've changed the template.
Dropped 10.4, added 10.8.

@doh, should i put a 'no' instead of a 'yes' for Wineskin on 10.5?

I'm not sure how to write it in a quick chart, because it depends on the port.  If its made with 2.5.4 or older it'll run on 10.5, but if its 2.5.5 or newer... it won't.

Maybe you need a 3 picture system...
Green checkmark = Yes
Gray Question Mark =  possibly, check wrapper requirements
Red X = No

The check mark indicators are just a quick rough description anyway.
There's no way to group compatibility, even alone for Cider for example. Half of the ciders now require 10.6 upwards, and some are 10.7 only.
Since most of the Wineskin Ports are made with 2.5.4 and below, in a half a year or so when more 2.5.5+ Ports are around, this can be changed to 'no' on 10.5 then.

10.5 graphics drivers even have trouble with some things... really anyone wanting to game with a wrapper should be on 10.6+

My idea was to remove the chart entirely and replace it with something like what we currently have for graphics cards.

For each OS version we want to list (i.e. from 10.4 to 10.8 or from 10.5 to 10.8) there could be a group of values to choose from (rather than using colors, I'd use [Supported / Not Supported / Untested]).  This way it can be wrapper-specific, and it will cause less confusion to the users, I believe.

Only downside, people posting ports will have to fill a few more fields, but it takes less than a minute to choose a value from a pull-down list.

I like your idea better syao - and if we do that we might as well just stick with 10.4 - it is just one more column.

Because technically it is not accurate anyway - CX apps worked in Mac OS X 10.7 (not sure about Mac OS X 10.8 mind you)

Ok..I wont ask to put a vote to it, Because I know how the results will end up like. So my question is.....Will 10.4 be in a colume or can it be combind with 10.5 and make it our own way

Example: 10.5.4 ( That will work with both OsX)

Just a thought.

Ugh 10.5.4 - would confuse people because that just means a . update to Leopard.

No..Not if you explain to them what it  means, It means that 10.5.4 is a 10.4 & 10.5 wrapper that would work both OsX... Now here a question.. Is there any users out there that still have 10.4 on their machine and still want to play your fav games and apps. Speak Up.

except Mac OS X 10.5.4 is a valid version of 10.5 ... are you talking about 10.5.4, or are you talking about something to do with 10.4?  There is no reason to make up some totally new numbering system thats only used here just to confuse people.
