sha1sum mismatch!  Rename /Users/Username/Library/Caches/winetricks/steam/SteamInstall.msi and try again.

You could always install steam by downloading it and putting it in Drive_C

Both Sniper Elite V2 and Hitman Absolution are DX10 only games, thus won't work anyways.

try updating Winetricks... other than that, the Winetricks is too old for the Steam version is downloading, so it thinks its corrupt.

Just got the same problem and downloaded the latest winetricks and the same problem exists.

Checksum for /home/foo/.cache/winetricks/steam/SteamInstall.msi did not match, retrying download

So to workaround the prob do this:

1) Generate a new sha1 sum from the previously downloaded file

$ sha1sum .cache/winetricks/steam/SteamInstall.msi
fa053c268b6285741d1a1392c25f92c5cb2a6ffb  .cache/winetricks/steam/SteamInstall.msi

2) Edit the winetricks script and search for the URL (e.g. SteamInstall.msi) line starts with the function name "w_download".

3) Change the existing checksum with the new one from above. Should be a string of (seemingly) random characters.

4) save and rerun winetricks.

I had this problem too, when trying to use this port:
http://portingteam.c...n-updated-2014/
The problem was that I had been using Keka to unzip the DMG, not 7zX. I think this might be what causes the problem. Check if you're using the software they suggest.

Hope it helps.
