Maybe, it is just me but it seems broken. - since it was an .app file

Can you add the .app file to a folder and make a dmg?

I can't see anything wrong with the file. Every app on Mac has the .app extension, it's just pretty much always hidden.

Something bad with text in info.plist etc.

I did notice that there was a corrupt key in the plist file. Don't have it in front of me right now, but every key should have a corresponding value so either delete the non-matched key or add in "<string></string>" after it.

The only problem I foresee with this wrapper (haven't tested it out yet) is the Code Signature. Any changes made to the app will break the code signing and it will need to be re-signed, unless you can bypass the signature.
