I can't edit my last post so I will update instead.

I used a slightly older engine and got wineskin to run and create a wrapper. However, I can't get it to run the game. It won't launch the .exe, but I'm either putting the Program folder in the wrong place, or I'm doing something wrong with the program itself. Once the game is downloaded, do I unzip everything and put all of it in a new folder (unzipped files, .ini file, .exe, and all of it)? If so, do I put the whole folder in Applications and try to get wineskin for open it from there?

Sorry for being such a noob, but I really appreciate the help.

you have to install the game first in wineskin or in windows and copy over the program files  for the game into the wrapper

I thought that using cider meant I don't have to use wineskin (which is giving me all kinds of fits right now).

I've got the game downloaded, files unzipped, then...I'm not sure what... since I can't make a wrapper in winery (I get an error) and I can't get skyrim cider to launch.

Easy you did not follow step 7 - and are running the game off the mounted image. You need to install the files on to your computer by dragging them to your Application Folder.

Running games of a mounted image is like running a game off a floppy disc or CD - you can not save to a mounted image or add files to it. (adding files would be your new save game file in this case).

Step 7: After it is mounted drag the game to application folder (this will copy the files to your hard drive): Posted Image

Quick question if anyone can answer: On the step where I select the .exe field, how do I select the Steam EXE? Is it in Steamapps?

I already took care of that port. If it still doesn't work then your release must be using a more restrictive copy protection. play without the CD (without cracks) HiPhish 12 April 2013 - 04:04 PM

OK..I used the installer from "show package etc" apart from it saying my CPU isnt good enough and it gives an error on the desktop icon, it installed, but can I bu**ery find it. I can see the ubisoft file folder but it just has game launcher in it, when you use that it says use the game directly, but i just cannot find it...where does it put the game!.. I have looked in all the usual windows places, but although the installer is there, the game isn't. I used an ISO of the game, it all "appears" to have gone on. so, maybe i'm missing something really basic here, but while trying to use steam (with your wrapper), I am unable to get it to work. I follow all of your instructions, and then I try an open the application, and it just bounces up and down then disappears.
