Consoles are all casual platforms.. The most sold Xbox game is Kinect Adventures!
The problem with Wii was that they didn't release the good games in USA, or they released the games very late.
People had to start petitions to get games like Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower and The Last story to USA.
There have also been a lack of military shooters on Wii, but then again, why would you play shooters on a console?
In the top 10 best selling games on xbox360 there are only 1 game (GTA 4) that is not a kinect, COD or halo game.

There is no one claiming that Wii is faster then the 360, but it still sold more units.
The Wii got the largest market share and the largest user base in the previous generation of console, thus the most successful unit.

I've played a lot of Wii games, and I find it very interesting! Also you have a classic controller too, which is pretty much the same as the ps3 or xbox controller.
