Big news: Tribes: Ascend is now on Steam! If this one doesn't need the Hi-Rez Authentication Service and instead uses your Steam username and password, it might be easy to port unlike the version directly from their website!

If it can't connect to the database without making it impractical or insecure, then I don't really see a whole lot of use for it. If I want to see my notifications, I can just press Command+T and click on the Porting Team bookmark at the top of my screen and bam, I can see my notifications 
. I understand some of the use behind it, but for me it's already fairly effortless to check notifications.
On a side note, as for the revamping of the tutorial section, I think that it's pretty good as it is, it just doesn't get used often enough. Maybe new users could be directed there upon making their account, with a message saying something like, "If you're new to porting, you may want to go here first".

Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV are SO GODDAMN HARD.

We should get a Porting Team server going for Tribes: Ascend after this, seems like a lot of people from here are interested in it.

Pretty much. I have Borderlands GOTY from them and it's not like it's any better quality than what I'd get from a wrapper or a Wineskin engine, anyway.
