#97649 Read this before you ask for help!!!

Posted cluthz on 15 June 2013 - 10:22 PM

Most of the requests for help are very simple fixes, so please look at this before you post!

Wineskin wrappers (2.5.7 and older) needs to be updated to run properly on 10.7.5 and 10.8.2 (or newer Mac OSX versions):

The more info you provide, the better we can help you!!

Sorry, I had many tests and didn't gave CXE/CXZ the Screen Options support yet, but I will do it as soon as possible.

#96882 Community Articles - Discussions

Posted Skylarzz on 17 May 2013 - 10:28 AM

Reading on previous articles and posts/discussions and such, I've noticed that everythings not as active as you'd think, so I thought of an idea, or a 'suggestion' in a sense. I recently started getting interested in writing articles and being part of the article team here and thought one thing... "What the heck am I gonna write about?" So I came up with this theory, that, I personally think, would help heaps, its what I call 'The Weekly Dose' (Obviously just my term).

Now the Weekly Dose could consist of purely anything...obviously though only written by one person, or two. The weekly dose would talk about small updates all in one, for example, how the communities going, new games with potential awesomeness (yes, I said awesomeness), updates on ports, or new amazing ports, wineskin news, games coverage/crossover coverage....and anything else that seems like a great idea.

So, what do you's think? Could it potentially be a new thing? I'd love to help out with the Porting Team in any way possible, and the news/articles sounds like a great way to do so. Thanks for reading this btw, if you actually did so :)

#96390 Wineskin/Winetricks being VERY temperamental

Yup. Old ones work right, though I really hate to say that. Lots of problems with the new engine(s).

Pics don't work here either.

Anyways I do not supporting companies that screws people over with DRM like that.
Also EA does shut down online services like crazy. Once SIm City doesn't earn them money, they will shut it down..

EA MAY RETIRE ONLINE SERVICES, ONLINE FEATURES, AND DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT AFTER 30 DAYS NOTICE POSTED ON WWW.EA.COM/1/SERVICE-UPDATES.

Spoiler

Good luck playing that game in a few years...

Yes! And I love how EA lied about their DRM and said that it is a vital part to the game and without it it wouldn't even start, but then a few days later hackers bypassed it.

Yes I know but I'm just saying that you can mod it to the extend of making it look like the original games.

There is going to be a native version, so no.

#93933 Origin on Mac, and yes it's bad..

Posted Tetsu on 09 February 2013 - 07:03 PM

Yeah, at the moment it seems to me that most of the value there is in future potential of bringing more games that may not have come to the Mac otherwise (officially that is). They do have some stuff in the works like frostbite engine for Mac and their new Sim City which is said to be native and have cross platform multiplayer.

If they would bring the Mass Effect games and some of the rest of their catalog of games that they published that would be good.

#92722 Mac OS X 10.4

Posted eridani on 04 January 2013 - 03:48 PM

I love Tiger the most, but some times you need some app that doesnt run on 10.4 so i use SL. But thats personal taste.

What worries me is that your computer seems to crash very often (i had just 3 kernel panics over the past 6 years), maybe you have to pay a visit to the tech support.

Regarding your question, yah CXE work on Tiger, also if needed, there should be a metod for compiling newer CX (i.e. CX12) sources for using it as engine along with those wrappers.

Also, this isn't a wrapper, but Winebottler is Tiger compatible, even though the las build by the developer doesn't comes with audio support you may compile your own Wine an use it instead (with some minnor tweaks).

Best wishes and have a prosperous new year everyone!
