Cannot submit new ports.
05 March 2013 - 04:21 PM
Hey everyone, recently I have been trying to post my ports in the Port database, but I've been unable to do so because of an unknown reason.
When I attempt to submit a port, after entering all required info, uploading screenshots and everything else, i finally click the 'Add submission' button, it takes around 50 seconds of loading and eventually the page reloads to a blank (white) page with the URL: http://portingteam.com/index.php?
Once i revisit the port database, my port is not posted.
Help, anyone?

Mountain Lion and Winskin/Cider wrappers
05 August 2012 - 11:41 PM
So after a week of using Mountain Lion on my hackintosh, i've encountered many issues with wrappers both wineskin & cider from the Port Database.
Heres a little proof just to show that cider does work in ML (at least certain cider wrappers work):
This is gameplay of BatteryDie/Reboot's Cloud Cider 6635 wrapper.
Please excuse my Dolan Wallpaper.
I had to enable OSX to run 'everything' instead of App Store applications only (through the security options in system preferences).
The main issue is that both cider and wineskin wrappers DO NOT open... at least not straight away. This issue seems to be caused by Safeguard. When i open an application, it will either bounce on the dock or not appear at all & 5-10minutes after opening the application (without force quitting it), the safeguard message FINALLY pops up asking me if im sure i want to run this application. Once i click 'ok' the application will launch as normal. The next time i launch the app, it starts instantly without safeguard issues.
Although this may be just a safeguard bug in Mountain Lion, i wasn't sure if this was related to the fact that Mountain Lion is apparently only able to boot up in 64bit mode but can still run 32bit extensions? I had a look in Activity Monitor and both Cider and Wineskin processes show up as 32bit processes/extensions and i wasnt sure if that was related to the issue with safeguard.
I also found out that going into your user/library/preferences folder and deleting the .plist file related to a wrapper will cause safeguard to ask you if you want to run the application again.. so perhaps people could paste .plist files into their preferences folder before running a wrapper for the first time in order for applications to startup straight away??
So basically, i want to discuss with you guys about how to possibly bypass the issue of cider and wineskin wrappers not opening (at least not opening straight away). Also, i'd like people to report any other 'Wrappers on Mountain Lion' issues they have experienced (as i have experienced extreme graphical corruption on Hrachya's FarCry 2 wrapper and Blinxfrost's Prototype 2 wrapper) and that didnt happen in mountain lion.

VCRun2005/2008 Problem.
03 August 2012 - 12:13 PM
Hello everyone, lately i have been trying to port a few games but i've had no success since i am unable to install vcrun2005 or 2008 into my wineskin wrappers through both winetricks and installing through the redist setups.
The issue i get is that once the setup is loading, the setup seems to stick/stop at the end of the installation bar... I have had the same results on wine engines 1.3.3, 1.3.9, 1.3.37, 1.4 and 1.5.9. Heres a screenshot:

My question is:
How can is fix this issue?
Cheers!!

Hackintoshing a gaming rig
28 June 2012 - 09:44 PM
Hello, i need some advice/assistance on how to properly hackintosh my gaming rig (and im hoping to still be able to dualboot into windows which i have installed on another SSD). I have a wide selection of hard drives avalable but for Mac OSX, I was hoping to use a 320gb 5400rpm HDD until i am able to purchase a 120gb SSD for it (if i get the OSX working properly).
I've checked all my parts on tonymacx86 and so far, everyone on there seems to say that my parts (possibly besides my Wifi PCI Card) work fine (even the 570 on osx 10.7+).
I have all ready attempted to hackintosh using my GTX 570 as the display (which seems to work but i cant get the drivers working properly so im unable to change the resolution).
My specs are:
GIGABYTE GA-Z68P-DS3 (flashed to F9)
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz ram
Intel Core i7 2600k at 4.5GHz
NVidia GTX 570 1280mb (Sparkle GURU Ver.) http://sparkletw.com...e-gtx-570-guru/
Corsair HX850W
Seagate 320gb 5400rpm HDD (for hackintosh)
and an 'ADDon 300mbps Wifi PCI card' (if its not compatible then i'll be using my mobo's ethernet for OSX).
i'm hoping to use OSX 10.6 so im able to use CXEx and CiderX fully but i've heard that the 570 only works on 10.7+
Information on my motherbaord such as audio and ethernet can be found here:
http://www.gigabyte....spx?pid=3899#sp
As i said, i have all ready attempted to hackintosh fully but i got to the stage where my Audio, resolution and Wifi/Internet wouldnt work even after using Multibeast and the special DSDT for my motherboard (yes, its flashed to F9).
For display, im using HDMI on a 1080p monitor, HDMI is currently the only option avalable for me to use.
Advice on solving these problems would be greatly appreciated. If you require any more information then i will add it to this post.
Cheers,
Dan.
