XIII (pronounced: Thirteen) is a first-person shooter video game based on the 1984 Belgian XIII comic series.
The plot of the game centers on the main character, who has awakened with amnesia. The characters and weaponry in XIII are cel-shaded, giving a deliberately comic book style appearance, including onomatopoeic words contained in bubbles for sound effects.
The story begins at Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, New York City where XIII awakes, badly wounded and with no memory of his past. The game roughly follows the storyline of the first five volumes of the comic (the first fifteen issues), although there are several additions to the storyline, and changes were made to better adapt the story to game format. The game ends at the exact point where the comic's fifth volume ended, and as such, the complete story is unfinished, leaving room for a sequel.

This is a CXSkin wrapper so it should work flawlessly on any Intel Mac with OSX 10.4-10.6

Please note that this wrapper will work best with the gamefiles from the old Chromium port which can be found in the full games section of the forum.

To install the gamesfiles, right-click on the application package and select "Show Package Contents" from the menu.
Then follow the red-marked folders until you see the gamefolder - place the PC gamefiles inside this folder and you are good to go.

The PPC build has issues on OSX 10.5 so I decided to port this game with CrossOver. Mouse an rendering issues have been fixed. The game runs fluid at any resolution.

Known Issues:
Anti Aliasing doesn't work.
Sometimes the NPC shadows are flickering a bit - this is a very minor glitch that doesn't affect gameplay at all.

Mac OS version: OS X 10.4.11
Min. Processor: Intel Core Duo
Min RAM: 512 MB
Video RAM: 128 MB
Harddisk space: 1,8 GB

Please note that this game has not been tested on Macs with GMA 950 chips.

Thank you for updating this!! :)
Oh wow! I remember this game! I had it on xbox back in the day, never completed it though, thanks Doc!
I played this Mac native on one of my many PPC towers, a dual 6xxMhz I think. Anyhow, lots of fun. I wonder if the PPC original would fare any better on Snow Leopard.

It's great to see a port wrapper of this unique game. Shame about the anti-aliasing...
Thx a lot :)
Wow, I forgot I even had this game!  Found it in an old stack of PC discs.

Thanks for the port!
Love this game! For me the snow-level is the one – sneak around and knock'em down, pretty cool. Thanks for the port works fine … and it's works on my mini – perfect!
The game plays fine until the 'Canyon 1' level. There all textures seem black except the sky texture.
Anyone can help us to fix this?

PS: i couldn't find any shadows to turn off in the user.

log gives:
local wineloader[660] : kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSBindSurface: Invalid
local wineloader[660] : unknown error code: invalid drawable

Damn, we were so into this game . . .
Thanks for the port! The game looks really interesting! Maybe im going to give it a try after i am done with my final tests... :(
quite ironic that it is easier to play this via these ports than the official mac version nowadays.
Hate to bump an old thread like this but I'm having the same issue as gjoid for the Canyon level.  I've also noticed some of the dream sequences don't render properly resulting in the game hanging on a white screen.  I'll see if I can dig out the specific problem textures but I bet thedoctor45 would have a better clue than I would as I'm relatively new to the porting world.

Thanks guys!
I just wanted to drop by to let you guys know that there is a Wineskin port now, which will work on Lion
