Review

Known Issues:
No Intro Videos.
Loading up takes a while
Setting the Fog of War to low renders the game worlds as a gray blob / No 3D graphics

Installation:
Drag and drop your game directory in the wrapper's contents/drive_c/Program Files

Notes:
All other wrappers I tried failed to launch the game after the loading screen. Wineskin is the only one I knew of with the 1.3.3engine which works fine with the game. I tested this with the SKiDROW release, you can give it a try with the original. The performance is pretty good. I tested this on a late model MacBook Pro i5 / GT330M 256MB and runs fine with all settings to max and 1440x900 / No antialias. If the game loads with a gray blob instead of graphics change your graphics settings and specifically texture resolution and fog of war detail. Setting these higher will do the trick.

In case you missed it check out this thread
http://forum.porting...forum.php?f=125

Either way, I never had to do anything with his port (which is a full game port) mine's just a wrapper, since I already had the game running on my mac with a compiled wine 1.3.3. Why would I want to credit him for something I did myself? Instead I'll give my credit to doh123 for his wineskin wrapper and waves for his help for this post. I don't think that I copied anything else for this wrapper?

Sorry, but that's just insulting me, I'm trying to share something here that took me my whole weekend to figure out, and you've already decided that I just copied / pasted other ppl's efforts???

Good luck, have fun and remember it's my first! Be kind :p
Gee, nice start!
its easy to assume someone might have taken a full port and turned it into a wrapper, since they both happens so close together... the idea even crossed my mind to think maybe thats what happened... but i always give the benefit of the doubt first before making accusations... if your going to accuse someone of ripping off someone else, at least find out if its true first.
I'm sorry if i offended you i just assumed because the entire description look liked it was copied and pasted before the edit
I just sent him the posting guidelines.

Since he asked in the open request thread.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he wanted to share - and he wanted to do so likely before anyone finished the torrent.

PS - Doh123 is a she not a he :)
well i finished the torrent in about 2 hours but maybe thats cause i have a fiber optic connection idk again i'm sorry for jumping to conclusions i have had a rough week i was mugged my identity was stolen i failed some college courses and my grandfather is having heart surgery tomorrow i'm just really stressed

Why should I use this instead of Wine?

This is a Wineskin wrapper... which means it uses Wine... so you are using Wine.  If you want to compile and run Wine on your own, use command line, and get around the issues with Xquartz and fullscreen modes... go right ahead... maybe you don't get the concept of making a wrapper so its easy for people that don;t want to mess with Wine to still be able to use their software.
Link is not working anymore please re-upload it.

Download works here, although it's Rapidshare.
now it worked before it gave me some error and it said that the file was not available any longer or it reached maximum downloads.
Is this for the disk only version? I tried using my Steam PC version but of course it commits seppuku whenever it checks for steam or steam activation. I would much rather use a wineskin wrapper since you can test against different WINE versions as improvements are made. Want to try and link to a newer xQuartz and see if I can get it to behave under OS X in a multi-monitor setup like under windows. being able to jump back and forth to a text document of notes without X acting up on the second LCD is amazingly useful in this game.
This was tested with the k'ed steam version (the SKiDROW release). Why don't you use the crack with your steam game? That would probably work. I would be more than happy to test the original steam version, but I don't have it. Maybe you need to add steam.dll or use winetricks to install steam in the wrapper? Please, post again with your results if you do try.
