Developed by Headfirst Productions, Call of Cthulhu – Dark Corners of the Earth is a first-person horror game that combines intense action and adventure elements. You will draw upon your skills in exploration, investigation, and combat while faced with the seemingly impossible task of battling evil incarnate.

Set during the 1920s, Call of Cthulhu is based on the Cthulhu Mythos of HP Lovecraft, an American writer of fantasy and horror and is produced in conjunction with the developers of the Call of Cthulhu pen and paper RPG, Chaosium Inc. Lovecraft’s stories tell of unthinkable evil, psychic possession, and mythical worlds. His work has profoundly influenced numerous fantasy and science fiction writers, including Stephen King and Anne Rice.

The technology powering Call of Cthulhu has provided Headfirst with the means to present an incredibly detailed and accurate depiction of the sights and sounds of this unique 1920’s New England setting. A diverse range of cutting edge special effects is utilized to ensure both unprecedented levels of realism and an exact portrayal of your mental degradation.

Personal Notes:
Runs very smoothly with widescreen. No audio or video bugs which is also very good. Average FPS for me is around 30 on full resolution/high settings

minimum System Requirements:
OS: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard / Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard / Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
Pentium III 800Mhz or better (Works great on NVIDIA)
DirectX 9.0 3D compliant video card with 128MB RAM
Sound Card (100% DirectX 8.1 Compatible)
Desktop Resolution of 800X600 @ 16-bit color depth minimum
2.0GB hard-drive space for installation.

-Either install the game with wineskin.app or place the game folder in:
c:/program files/(here)
-The game may require a No-CD patch.
-Before starting, make sure the path the the EXE is correct :)

There are some known issues with this game and wine - namely that gameplay speed varies randomly leading to timed/scripted events getting out of sync which makes the game very difficult to play at certain points. Have you encountered any of these issues in this port?

PS: it runs more fluently in Cider but there are graphical glitches unfortuantely.
i havent encountered any issues besides the occasional frame rate drop during the very first mission. other than that, no problems on my end.
This IS a wrapper that is created to run on macs...
wowa nice job
This is cool but like isnt it copied a little from terraria?
My mouse is just a bit uncontrolled (very fast or very slow), but I am very thankful for this wrapper! Nicely done!
Is it worth hunting this game down?  I'm reading everywhere that it's frustratingly buggy, and the ArchAngel patch appears to be little more than a cheat mode.
EDIT: nvm, I came across this in a local shop and picked it up for $15.  It plays very well on my Mac mini@1920x1080.  The only glitch (and this may be a game flaw, not a wrapper flaw) is that the speech doesn't sync remotely well to the lip movements.  Otherwise, it's juuuust fine. Fine. Just fine. :D
Is it worth downloading the new wrapper and using it instead of the old one?  What are the changes/improvements?

Also, anyone know where the saved game files are stored?
Working well on mid-2011 21.5" iMac, Radeon HD 6770M 512MB, 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

Wine picks the wrong .exe by default, which is easily fixed after installation in Wineskin prefs. Mouse sensitivity is pretty high as well, but again easily fixed in the game prefs. Thanks for the wrapper, now I can get my Cthulhu on!
Hi DanIsTheMan! I'm new here, and I have some confusion about the installation process... After I open the wrapper, Wineskin says "Choose Setup Executable" "Copy a Folder Inside" and "Move a Folder Inside". What do I do from here?
