Will you resist the evil within you and forge a legend of heroic proportions? Or will you embrace your monstrous inner nature and carve a swath of destruction across the Realms? Your story begins anew in the exotic southern kingdom of Amn, amidst the opulence of the sinister capital city of Athkatla. Journey through the fierce, unforgiving wilderness of Amn in your quest for artifacts of awesome power and treasure of unfathomable wealth... Even challenge dragons, if you dare. Such is the life of a legend.

Personal Notes
The big one, the legendary, the one everybody talks about to this very day. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you Baldur’s Gate II. This was my first real Western RPG (real as in not a Hack & Slash), and boy, did it confuse me without end ^^ Great game, but not beginner-friendly at all, even if you have the manual. You start at about Level 12, so your characters already have quite a set of spells and skills. Icewind Dale would be more beginner friendly, since you start at level 1 and your path is more or less fixed.

tested Game-Version: German original CD release with Add On & GoG.com download
Genre: isometric Pen&Paper style Strategy RPG with pseudo-realtime combat

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
- CPU: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- RAM: 4 GB
- Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
- Port Disk Size: 3 GB (full install with Add On)

2. Known Issues:
• Here is what one user had to do to get multiplayer running: "you need to go to wineskin>advanced>tools>winecfg>libraries and add those 4 overrides (native & built-in) : dplayx, dpnet, dpnhpast, dpwsockx. Then it works like a charm ! (source used)"
• If the game still asks for the CD try this: "wineskin>advanced>tools>winecfg>drives> fix it so G: is CD2"
• If thecursor is flickering try turning on 3D acceleration in the game#s config program

• Launch Baldurs Gate 2.app, choose "Install Windows Software" and install the game using your retail CD or digital download
• To install the Add On or a patch do the same thing. If the game launches when you double-click instead of the Wineskin window, you will have to right-click Baldurs Gate 2.app, choose “Show Package Contents” and then launch Wineskin.app
• Copy your installed Game files into here: Baldurs Gate 2.app/Contents/drive_c/Program Files/..., launch Baldurs Gate 2.app, choose Advanced and set the game's EXE as the Windows EXE

About this port

Winetricks used
• directplay (for multiplayer, although I haven’t test it)
• ddr=gdi (against flickering on certain graphics cards)

DLL overrides used
• none

Registry hacks used
• none

Wine patches used
• none

Additional tweaks
• I included a file from my original CD inside the wrapper and mounted its folder as a CD in Winecfg. This fools the copy protection into thinking the actual disc is inserted without the need for any cracks. If you want to know what exactly I did you can look up the drives in Winecfg. This only work for the main game though, the expansion has a more advanced copy protection.

I tried playing with unsupported resolution: Couldn't press the "Single Player" button, so I changed it back to 800X400 but still nothing happens when i click the button. What's going on? I played it about 4 hours ago without any problem!

Sorry, but I don't use macOS any longer, so I cannot fix or reproduce the issue. Feel free to mark the port as broken.
