Expose the Conspiracy. Enter a futuristic world full of deception, where nothing is as it seems and exposing the truth is the only hope of restoring freedom.

Personal Notes:
This is my first port, so take it easy on me ;)
Enjoy this AMAZING game, whether you've played it many times or it's your first time… It's an absolutely great game. Please DON'T pirate it; it's only $10 at GOG.com! http://www.gog.com/e...d_good_and_evil

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
- CPU: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
- RAM: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
- Video: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB, also Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
- Port Disk Space: 2.64 GB disk space

Known Issues:
Cutscenes are out of sync, this is NOT as issue with the port itself; it's the game. (Due to this, I am marking this port green)
Things that could possibly fix it:
1. Change the executable from BGE.exe to SettingsApplication.exe
2. Turn off the following:
Anti-Aliasing

The following items are available once you click 'Manual Compatibility Settings'.
HW Vertex processing
Triple-Buffering

Note: this may work for some, NOT others. It is an unconfirmed fix.

Installation:
(NOTE: This is for the GOG.com version. The Steam version doesn't work unless you disable Steam overlay; even then, it runs slower than this version.)
1. Get the install .exe. (Please buy it! http://www.gog.com/e...d_good_and_evil)
2. Right click the .app -> Show Package Contents then open the Wineskin app.
3. Click 'Install Windows Software'.
4. Select the .exe (setup_beyond_good_and_evil.exe, I believe)
5. Let it install
6. Set the executable to BGE.exe
7. Play!

Follow the steps above under 'Known Issues' to fix the cutscenes-out-of-sync glitch.

Enjoy!

Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
Never heard of it.  Really well made and very enjoyable game!  Thank you- I'm gonna buy it.
WOW, I'm having some problems with the game!

The game speed is about twice the normal speed. And the sound keeps looping.. I'll try to mess with the settings.

Edit: fixed the sound. In the settings had to change the sound driver to built-in input.
But the cutscenes are really weird =P That's what I meant with double game speed.

The fix you posted doesn't work on my MBP :(

Edit 2: I searched the WineHQ database and found this:

Quote

The audio/video out-of-sync problem exists in Windows too (as I've read in several forums, so it's not certainly wine's fault). To workaround this, you should disable CPU frequency scaling under Linux e.g. set it to performance (instead of ondemand).

But I have no clue how to fix this.. Any ideas?

Edit 3: although I appreciate your effort to make this port, I'm deleting it. It's unplayable for me. I've been messing with quite some settings and DLL's overrides, but nothing seems to take care of the double game speed.

The cutscenes glitch, or, as you call it, "double game speed", does not ACTUALLY affect gameplay, however, this PC port (good work Ubi :/) has an error where the cutscenes go 2x faster than it should. There is NO actual fix for it. It is a Windows error and has nothing to do with Wine.
In my playtime, however, I found that said error did not really affect gameplay that much, as this game is very visual, so you can get all of the relevant story info just by watching. (and enabling subtitles)

Good for you! This game is one of my favorite games of all time, it's well worth the $10!
Does the game works with (ps2) controller?

Actually, the error does in fact affect gameplay. I've tried your fix and every fix on forums via google. None of them work for me. The cutscenes and actual gameplay are too fast.

How does your setup retain normal speed? At least for gameplay?
I'm going to test steam version later.
has anyone found a viable solution to the hyper speed glitch yet? :)
