The Next Installment to the Award-Winning RTS.
While many were hopeful that diplomacy would finally end the war, differing opinions on what should be done, along with the depleted power of the controlling factions, has led to a splintering of the groups involved.
The loyalist members of the Trader Emergency Coalition adopt a policy of isolation, focusing on enhanced defenses to ride out the rest of the war. Those who rebel against the coalition take on a purely militant view, coming to the opinion that the only way to bring peace is by ultimately crushing all who oppose them - especially xenos.
For the first time in their history, the war creates a schism in the Advent Unity. The loyalists seek to continue their policy of revenge against the Traders, and to assimilate all others to the Unity’s influence. However, others amongst the Advent suspect that a corrupting influence from within has diverted the Unity from its proper destiny.
The divide created in the Vasari Empire is less pronounced, but just as severe to their people. With the Vasari now practically frantic to move on to new space, the loyalist faction abandons cooperation and decides to take the resources they need by any means necessary. Having accepted the need to work together, the rebel faction feels that their best chance for survival is to work with the other races and bring them along to flee the approaching enemy.
Take the battle for galactic supremacy to its ultimate level in Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion – a standalone RT4X game that combines the tactics of real-time strategy with the depth of the 4X genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate).

Key features:
  • New Factions: Decide whether to play as a Loyalist or Rebel – each unlocks new technologies, ships and play styles for each race.
  • New Titan Class Warships: Mighty titans enter the fray of the war to tip the scales of power. Each faction may field their own unique titan, drawing upon unique strengths and abilities on the battlefield.
  • New and Updated Capital Ships: A new capital ship joins the fleet for each race to offer even more tactical options. Additionally, all existing capital ships have been upgraded to four levels for their abilities, allowing players to focus their ships along specific strengths.
  • New Corvette Class Ships: Small and maneuverable, each faction has developed a new light attack craft to harass enemy forces.
  • Updated Visuals: Updated graphics, particle effects, lighting and shadows, race specific UI and other enhancements make the Sins’ universe look better than ever.
  • New Victory Conditions: Take multiple paths to victory including – Military, Diplomatic, Research, Last Flagship Standing, Last Capital Standing and Occupation.
  • New Audio: More than 60 minutes of original music, countless new sound effects and dozens of new voice overs help bring the drama of battle to new levels of immersion.
  • Tutorials: New and updated tutorials make it easy for both experienced and new players to quickly start building their own solar empire.
  • Plus, a number of optimizations that provide better performance than ever before!
Personal Notes:
Amazing game really worth a try. It will suck you into its universe for hours and hours. The port performance is nearly 1:1 to windows. All graphics maxed out on my GT330M with 2xFSAA and 4xAF, framerate never drops 30

My System Specs:
- OS: OS X 10.7.4 >
- CPU: Core i5 2.53GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video: nVidia GT330M 256MB
- Disk Space: 2.72GB

Known Issues:
None

Installation:
Install using Wineskin Installer, or move the game folder from Parallels / Bootcamp
DO NOT install VCRuntime OR DirectX at the end when asked. It will make the wrapper REALLY SLOW.
Optionally install the patch available (Recommended)
Apply the crack - sorry DRM does not work with Wine.
Play.

Thanks for downloading!

Great Wrapper, works like charm but only for 10 mins. At least for me.
I installed the Steam version and applied the cracked 1.0.2 update. Game starts without any lags or errors but after 10 mins of gameplay there is an error message like "An error stopped Sins from working properly." I tried a Test-run to create a Log-File but for some reason the game does not crash during Test-runs...

Any Ideas? I have an ATI HD4870 btw.
Make sure you didn't install directx at the end of the installation and if you didn't, try lowering your graphics settings. Your graphics adapter runs out of memory.
I didn't install DirectX or VCrun as you told in your description. Tried to lower the settings right now. That seems to expand the game time a bit but it still crashes. That seems to be the source of the crash however.

I've read that BLACKNIGHT made a cider based wrapper...maybe that works better with ATI cards...
Did he agree to link his wrapper here, because i can't find that in the port database?
will this game work with 10.6.8 snow leopard?

Same here. Did you ever find a solution for that? It's quite hard to finish large maps when you have a 10 min time limit...

No solution but some sort of workaround. For some reason the planet detail is consuming a lot of video ram. So setting planet detail to low and everything else to high gives me 1+ hour of crash-free play which is ok.
I am also getting this crash after a few minutes of play. I did not install dx or the other thing. does this wrapper work for 10.6.8? Also would like to try blacknight's cider port to see if i still get this crash.
EDIT: I edited out all the top half because im pretty sure that was all working fine and left what leads up to the crash

sorry btw i didnt know how to put that in a "spoiler"
I'm stupid, can someone give me a step-by-step guide on what to do? XD
Thanks, (I forgot :P)
Hi,
Did someone already run it on 13" MBP ? I'm trying on late 2011 13" MBP (nVidia 320M, C2D)
Game installed through wine installer, patched, cracked. no DX, no VR2005.
On startup, screen turns black, but nothing happens : computer doesn't heat, only the mac os mouse on that black screen.
Don't know if the problem is the graphic card which is not powerful enough.
I Am having great difficulty getting the port to work with your wrapper. I have downloaded the RELOADED torrent of soase rebellion and use your wine wrapper to install the game into drive c, program files etc. I do not install direct x or visual runtime as instructed, and have then applied the crack. I have even installed the latest patch crack (1.04) over the top with no joy. I go to test run and all I get is a black screen with a visible mouse cursor. It flashes white briefly and then stays black and so I have to restart my computer everytime. I am running a mb pro mid 2012 model with mountain lion 10.8 and have an intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB with 4gb of ram so specs are more than enough. I have even tried using Blacknights cider wrapper for soase trinity (which works fine btw) and installing the game files into that and I have more luck with a start up splash screen, however the game attempts to load then fails due to a minidump error I am not sure of. Please could you tell me the exact process to get this working, even if it eventually requires me paying for rebellion via steam,

Kind regards,

Josh

I am having this same problem
Same black screen . . .

Wait a bit then need to force quit it (cmd+opt+esc)
Black screen. Dont know how to fix. I did get it from steam though but still i think it should work.
Yeah I have the same problem, a black screen. I have an early-MacBookPro with HD 3000 384MB and 4GB of ram. And yet I still have the black screen, I followed the instructions to par and yet this still happens everytime i try it. Its really annoying, hope for a fix soon
