The Next Installment to the Award-Winning RTS.
While many were hopeful that diplomacy would finally end the war, differing opinions on what should be done, along with the depleted power of the controlling factions, has led to a splintering of the groups involved.
The loyalist members of the Trader Emergency Coalition adopt a policy of isolation, focusing on enhanced defenses to ride out the rest of the war. Those who rebel against the coalition take on a purely militant view, coming to the opinion that the only way to bring peace is by ultimately crushing all who oppose them - especially xenos.
For the first time in their history, the war creates a schism in the Advent Unity. The loyalists seek to continue their policy of revenge against the Traders, and to assimilate all others to the Unity’s influence. However, others amongst the Advent suspect that a corrupting influence from within has diverted the Unity from its proper destiny.
The divide created in the Vasari Empire is less pronounced, but just as severe to their people. With the Vasari now practically frantic to move on to new space, the loyalist faction abandons cooperation and decides to take the resources they need by any means necessary. Having accepted the need to work together, the rebel faction feels that their best chance for survival is to work with the other races and bring them along to flee the approaching enemy.
Take the battle for galactic supremacy to its ultimate level in Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion – a standalone RT4X game that combines the tactics of real-time strategy with the depth of the 4X genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate).

Key features:
  • New Factions: Decide whether to play as a Loyalist or Rebel – each unlocks new technologies, ships and play styles for each race.
  • New Titan Class Warships: Mighty titans enter the fray of the war to tip the scales of power. Each faction may field their own unique titan, drawing upon unique strengths and abilities on the battlefield.
  • New and Updated Capital Ships: A new capital ship joins the fleet for each race to offer even more tactical options. Additionally, all existing capital ships have been upgraded to four levels for their abilities, allowing players to focus their ships along specific strengths.
  • New Corvette Class Ships: Small and maneuverable, each faction has developed a new light attack craft to harass enemy forces.
  • Updated Visuals: Updated graphics, particle effects, lighting and shadows, race specific UI and other enhancements make the Sins’ universe look better than ever.
  • New Victory Conditions: Take multiple paths to victory including – Military, Diplomatic, Research, Last Flagship Standing, Last Capital Standing and Occupation.
  • New Audio: More than 60 minutes of original music, countless new sound effects and dozens of new voice overs help bring the drama of battle to new levels of immersion.
  • Tutorials: New and updated tutorials make it easy for both experienced and new players to quickly start building their own solar empire.
  • Plus, a number of optimizations that provide better performance than ever before!
Personal Notes:
Amazing game really worth a try. It will suck you into its universe for hours and hours. The port performance is nearly 1:1 to windows. All graphics maxed out on my GT330M with 2xFSAA and 4xAF, framerate never drops 30

My System Specs:
- OS: OS X 10.7.4 >
- CPU: Core i5 2.53GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video: nVidia GT330M 256MB
- Disk Space: 2.72GB

Known Issues:

Install using Wineskin Installer, or move the game folder from Parallels / Bootcamp
DO NOT install VCRuntime OR DirectX at the end when asked. It will make the wrapper REALLY SLOW.
Optionally install the patch available (Recommended)
Apply the crack - sorry DRM does not work with Wine.

Thanks for downloading!

this is the one which has been running on my system :
(didn't test on X.9, but it used to work on X.8)
BTW, I just saw there's a new wrapper for rebellion in the database (search "sins solar empire" in it).
i have an AMD video and i'm running mountain lion on a macbook pro. all i get is a black screen when i try running the wineskin after installing.

If my memory does its job.
ah thanks, didnt realize how old this thread is lol
search for "sins solar empire" ("of" and "a" will cause an error, too short) and you'll have all SoaSe wrappers available

EDIT : typo
sorry i'm a bit new. where is the link for the cracked patch? .
I don't think we are allowed to post this here. You should find this quite easily somewhere else. If my memory is right you may even find pre-cracked versions of SoaSe.
I've tried this and the other two ports on this site but I'm having trouble installing it (I believe it's the normal Sins of a Solar Empire as it doesn't say anything about an Expansion).  I've even tried the wineskins suggested for the game at the WineHQ site, but the screen will go black and then either quit or I end up having to force restart.

I realize I'm duplicating posts by posting the same question on all three of these, but I want to cover all of my bases.  So if anyone could advise me on how to install the game from the disc I would greatly appreciate it.

Any thoughts?
For further information if anyone can help me.

The other ones don't seem to have the wineskin application in the package content, and using the Xinstaller doesn't seem to do anything when I select the setup.exe file.  I'm not sure what the problem is with that.

The game itself seems to be the vanilla version of Sins of a Solar Empire, as that is all that is included in the title.  I've managed to succeed in using wineskin wrappers to run Knights of the Old Republic II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Starcraft Anthology, Jade Empire, and a generic wrapper for Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords Gold Edition.

I seem to be able to run the game straight using wine, but I'd like to have it in an actual wineskin wrapper to use the game as I'm not sure how to run it consistently using the other method.

My computer specs are: -Computer: Macbook Pro 13 inch (Mid 2012)
- OS: OS X 10.10.1
- CPU: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
- RAM:  8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
- ideo: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

I'd show the log file, but it doesn't create them because the screen goes black, sometimes showing a cursor, and forces me to use the power button to turn it off and restart.

So now, apparently, it freezes up when I try to run it through winebottler when I skip the intro cinematics.  I also tried to create a wineskin using one of the versions listed here: https://appdb.winehq...cation&iId=6653

However, when I try to run the game after installing it, it creates something called a minidump file that I can't read.

Again, I've tried all three versions of the Sins of a Solar Empire wrappers here, and a fresh version using the version of Wine suggested at WineHQ, but nothing works.
Hello Caesar,
I'm affraid I can't help you anymore, I switched to ArchLinux, and never used 10.10.
WineHQ may be a better source of information than this outdated thread.

Good luck in your fight against Apple ;-p

Finally managed to get it working via this wrapper: http://portingteam.c...updated-300412/

Nevermind.  When it gets to loading a new game it crashes and says:

MNI DUMP: Saved MiniDump:"E:\TG-N~QUK\Sins Dump\Sins-v1.05-2015-02-05-23-05-44-1-3.dmp

So Apparently I can get this to work by running it through Winebottler and creating a program that way.
