XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics.

The original XCOM is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made and has now been re-imagined by the strategy experts at Firaxis Games. XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth.

You will control the fate of the human race through researching alien technologies, creating and managing a fully operational base, planning combat missions and controlling soldier movement in battle.

Key Features
  • Strategy Evolved: XCOM: Enemy Unknown couples tactical turn-based gameplay with incredible action sequences and on-the-ground combat.
  • Strategic Base: Recruit, customize and grow unique soldiers and manage your personnel. Detect and intercept the alien threat as you build and expand your XCOM headquarters.
  • Tactical Combat: Direct soldier squads in turn-based ground battles and deploy air units such as the Interceptor and Skyranger.
  • Worldwide Threat: Combat spans the globe as the XCOM team engages in over 70 unique missions, interacting and negotiating with governments around the world.
My System Specs:
- OS: OS X 10.8.2
- CPU: Core i5 2.53GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video:    nVidia GT330M 256MB
- Disk Space:   12GB

Known Issues:
A bit of lag, but you can always lower the graphics settings
ATi's may suffer from artifacts. Tweak the file:
/Users/[..]/Documents/My Games/XCOM - Enemy Unknown/XComGame/Config/XComEngine.ini
to disable things like dynamic lighting / dynamic shadows / blur / distortion effects

Installation:
1. Extract the wrapper archive (double click on the .7z file)
2. Hold Fn + double click on the wrapper.
3. Click "Install Windows Software"
4. Browse to your "setup.exe" or similar
5. Complete the installation, If you get any, SKIP THE DirectX, VCRuntime or .NET Installation Prompts at the End (Select "Cancel")
i) If you don't have an option, and you are sure that the game installed DirectX, let the installation finish, and redownload the wrapper, and paste the
game folder from Program Files in the fresh wrapper.
6. When done, you will get a prompt to choose the executable. Choose "XComGame.exe"
7. Close all windows.
8. Replace the executable with a cracked one in the wrapper. To do so:
i ) Right click on the wrapper, choose "Show Package Contents"
   ii ) Go to: drive_c/Program Files/XCOM Enemy Unknown/Binaries/Win32
iii ) Replace the old XComGame.exe with the cracked one (Sorry, copy protection doesn't work.)
iv ) If you got the game pre-cracked, it's obvious that you can skip this step.
10. Close all windows and play!

ATI USERS:
There is now a new wrapper specifically for ATi / AMD users to try out. It reportedly fixes the glitches while having a decent speed. This engine comes with some special settings you can change if you want to experiment with the performace. Open Wineskin, Go to advanced and run "Registry Editor".
From there, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D
And change the value of VertexShaderConstants
I'd suggest values between 450 - 1000, but of course feel free to experiment.
The lower you go, the faster the framerate, but you'll get more graphical glitches
The higher you go, the less glitches, but slower framerate.

USERS ON pre-5xxx ATi's (Radeon HD 2600/4670/4850/4870):
It seems that these cards only support 512-1024 Uniform Components, which are not enough to run this game on Mac OS X. You can experiment with values around 240 - 256, but there is no guarantee that the game will work.

Thanks for downloading!

awsome wrapper bro thanks works well on medium
All I get is a black screen, then a white flash, then a black screen again, the mouse cursor turns into an X shape
and the wrapper crashes..
It also happened to me on your Borderlands 2 wrapper. Couldn't find a way to fix it.
Help?..

-------------Edit

I did play with the VertexShaderConstants down to 260 but still a black screen and an X cursor.
Also updated my Wine and Wineskin to the version you pointed above.

On a 2011 iMac Intel Core i3 3.2GHz 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB
Running on an early 2011 Macbook Pro 13", 2.3 GHz i5, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD 3000 512 MB.
Game is just playable but I'm getting framerates of about 10-15fps. Seems to have major problems with transparencies.
Hi! Just installed wrapper and thats just an amazing job you've done with it :)
There is only one small idea, could you please write or create .ini file with setting for the lowest details? Its lagging terrible on my Mac, probably because i have only 4GB but i love this game and cant wait for extra 4GB ;)
Cheers

i did windowed by mistake, after i Command-Tabbed to check my emails.  When i went back to the game it was strictly windowed mode.  Re-started the game, back to normal.  BUt im fairly certain you might be able to do that within the Wineskin of the wrapper.

Also, i switched to 265, which got rid of the more annoying glitches.
command + return should help you with it. i made the same mistake ;)

I have this problem too... does anyone know how to fix this, however my computer is an intel HD 8000 ; i've also tried changing the screen settings, but it still gives me the black screen white flash then quits the game, so if anyone know how to fix this, please helppppp !!!

theres a step that i could't follow, "If you don't have an option, and you are sure that the game installed DirectX, let the installation finish, and redownload the wrapper, and paste the", cause i can't put my game folder into the new wrapper...

Downloaded FLT release (2 DVDs), mounted disc 1, chose setup executable "setup.exe", got "no executables found" error every time. Tried copying files from .iso files as well, still got the same error.

I am new to wrapping so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

For anyone having this problem, try downloading 7zx app and unarchiving wrapper with it.
i tried the demo version on steam and sadly it wont work with the steam copy :(
Seems to work "ok". Although it crashed when i clicked on the icon on the lower left of the screen.
Has anyone tested version 1.1 already?
thx for your work :D
Works pretty well with the patch. 1.1 seems to be more stable and also the hardware curser is nice.

ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2 here

the ATI specific wrapper fixed the glitches, but became unplayable.  I'm talking like 0.3fps here.  Even in the main menu when the alien skips across the screen the game lags like a spastic zombie.

Same here, would love to know how to get it working! Thanks for all your hard work.
