About the Game

In this retelling of Dante's origin story which is set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC Devil May Cryâ„¢ retains the stylish action, fluid combat and self-assured protagonist that have defined the iconic series but inject a more brutal and visceral edge.
The Dante of DmC is a young man who has no respect for authority or indeed society in general. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an outcast. Thanks to his twin brother Vergil, leader of the anti-establishment group called “The Order”, Dante is now discovering and coming to terms with what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel. This split personality has a real impact on gameplay with Dante being able to call upon angel and demon abilities at will, transforming his Rebellion sword on the fly to dramatically affect both combat and movement.
For DmC Capcom has teamed up with UK development studio, Ninja Theory, renown for delivering action titles with compelling characters and narrative coupled with high production values. The combination of Ninja Theory’s expertise and Capcom’s unrivalled heritage in producing combat focused action titles will ensure that this latest addition to the over 11-million selling series will remain true to the Devil May Cry DNA so cherished by the fans, while bringing a new level of cinematic quality to the title.

Key Features
- Survive Limbo - The world of Limbo is a living and breathing entity, out to kill Dante. The world will transform in real-time and try to block off and even kill our hero. Our protagonist will have to master demonic powers to shape Limbo the way he sees fit, while perfecting his angelic skills to traverse this hazardous, twisted world.
- Who is Dante? – Explore a retelling of Dante’s origin story in a gripping narrative featuring familiar faces from the series alongside all new characters, including Vergil, Dante’s twin brother.
- Unbridled action – The intense and iconic sword and gun based combat returns with the addition of new Angel and Demon weapons and abilities, all designed to dispatch the demonic spawn back to hell with style and panache. Weapons include:
  • “Rebellion”: Dante’s trusted sword, given by his father Sparda, provides a great mix of combos and attacks, great for sending enemies skyward.
  • “Ebony & Ivory”: These guns are good for keeping enemies at bay, maintaining combos and juggling enemies in the air.
  • “Arbiter”: a demonic axe that can deliver massive blows and break through enemy shields.
  • “Osiris”: an angelic scythe with fast attacks and great for crowd control.
  • “Eryx”: powerful demonic gauntlets that pack enough punch to parry even the strongest attacks and juggle the heaviest enemies.
- Retaining the Devil May Cry DNA – Capcom staff, including team members from previous Devil May Cry titles, have been assigned to the project from the outset to ensure DmC is a true addition to the Devil May Cry franchise.
- Unrivalled production values - Ninja Theory will take advantage of the latest performance capture technology to deliver a level of character design, story-telling and cinematics that perfectly complements DmC’s high-octane combat.

Personal Notes:
Runs pretty well, played for about an hour. Some minor graphical glitches, but these may well be because of the actual game.

My System Specs:
- OS: OS X 10.8.2
- CPU: Core i5 2.53GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video: nVidia GT330M 256MB
- Disk Space: 9.0GB

Known Issues:
Quitting the game may not work. In this case press Cmd+q on your keyboard
Special Steps needed for ATi/AMD users

1. Extract the wrapper archive (double click on the .7z file)
2. Hold Fn + double click on the wrapper.
3. Click "Install Windows Software"
4. Browse to your "setup.exe" or similar
5. Complete the installation, If you get any, SKIP THE DirectX, VCRuntime or .NET Installation Prompts at the End (Select "Cancel")
i) If you don't have an option, and you are sure that the game installed DirectX, let the installation finish, and redownload the wrapper, and paste the
game folder from Program Files in the fresh wrapper.
6. When done, you will get a prompt to choose the executable. Choose "C:/Program Files/[GAME DIR]/Binaries/Win32/DMC-DevilMayCry.exe"
7. Close all windows.
8. If the game's DRM prevents the game from starting, use a crack.
9. Close all windows and play!

This engine comes with some special settings you can change if you want to experiment with the performace. Open Wineskin, Go to advanced and run "Registry Editor".
From there, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D
Create a new STRING VALUE Named: OverrideVertexShaders. Set its value to "enabled" (without the double-quotes)
Create another STRING VALUE Named: VertexShaderConstants Set the values as follows:

I'd suggest values between 260-280, but of course feel free to experiment.
The lower you go, the faster the framerate, but you'll get more graphical glitches
The higher you go, the less glitches, but slower framerate.

USERS ON pre-5xxx ATi's (Radeon HD 2600/4670/4850/4870):
It seems that these cards only support 512-1024 Uniform Components, which are not enough to run this game on Mac OS X. You can experiment with values around 240 - 256, but there is no guarantee that the game will work.

DmC: Devil May Cry*
... DMC stands for Devil May Cry. So it's Devil May Cry: Devil May Cry.
Thanoulas r u still working on Tribes: Ascend???
Yes but all the current versions are breaking the launcher completely, so no news.
i get a parsing error, how do i get past this?
Yeah let's all bash this game because Dante doesn't have White hair, and he's younger...
How exactly can I remove directx9? Sorry I'm new to this stuff

You need pirate game or buy game to get files.
Can it recognize a wired 360 controller? And if it can, how? I've got tattieboggle and it's plugged in but it's not being recognized by the game. Works with all my legit games (except Aspyr), but won't work in Wine. Help!

EDIT: doesn't recognize the gamepad. Used ControllerMate instead. Requires just a basic understanding of your controller and $15 (I think).
thanks, great port, but there is one problem,
after first boss and short scene there is black screen with loading logo circling forever, game just doesn't load next level/scene.

If somebody could please upload the save files of complete game or just beyond 2nd level, i would really appreciate that.
