From wikipedia:

Far Cry 2 is an open world first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published byUbisoft. It was released on October 21, 2008 in North America,[2] October 23, 2008 in Australia[3]and October 24, 2008 in Europe.[2][4] It was made available on Steam on October 22, 2008.[5]Crytek, the developers of the original game, were not involved in the development of Far Cry 2. Its successor Far Cry 3, released first on November 29, 2012 in Australia, is the third and latest installment of the main Far Cry franchise for Windows.
Ubisoft has marketed Far Cry 2 as the true sequel to Far Cry, however the sequel has very few noticeable similarities to the original game. Instead, it features completely new characters and setting, as well as a new style of gameplay that allows the player greater freedom to explore different African landscapes such as deserts, jungles, and savannas. The game takes place in a modern-day Central African nation in a state of anarchy and civil war. The player takes control of a mercenary on a lengthy journey to locate and assassinate "The Jackal," a notorious gun runner. As of January 23, 2009, the game has sold 2.9 million copies.

Personal Notes:
A game I found very fun, but boring when your always driving around... In the later parts of the game I saw that some textures flashed brightly, giving a strobe - like effect. I thought this game looked stunning, and more for the matter, could be handled VERY well by my computer, for the first time in a long time I could raise the graphics and have a playable FPS.

My System Specs:
- OS: 10.8.2
- CPU: 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- RAM: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
- Video:    ATI Radeon 2400 XT HD
- Disk Space:   4 GB

Known Issues:
Texture issue - some like to flash very bright

Installation:
Run the installer via wineskin and select farcry 2.exe as the executable

  • This port exists
  • This also has one of my saved games! - For people who don't wanna start at the beginning

Far Cry 2 port again? There is already port with Thanoulas' custom engine. (no texture issue.). However, there are two other ports are down.

P.S. PT-PortDB search engine is horrible. It won't let me find some ports. lol.

Hadn't the slightest there was another port, I found an old out-dated port that didn't work, so I thought I would reupload one that seems to work.
You're using 10.8.2. You need update Wineskin 2.5.8 wrapper to get works. (not engine) It was works fine on my hackpro for me.
Like REBOOT said, already a port up that works great for me :).

Anyways, doesn't hurt for people who maybe had issues with the "current" port.
I feel embarrased :P Re-Releasing a port that doesn't work as well as the other does,  Ah well
I always google search if there's already a port :D If there is, i make sure i can make it better :P
doesn't work :(

Only one person has downloaded all three files... Someone downloaded the first and second file, but not the third. FAIL xD
Having the game files also helps, and the lastwine log is helpful so I can help you with why and fix the problem
What do I do with all three files once I have downloaded them?
what do i do with 3 files? i have downloaded them ?????
Once all files have been downloaded, extract the port from the files, you can use 7zX.app or maybe the Unarchiver, than put your gamefiles inside the wrapper and play.
The support and instructions on some of the other Far Cry 2 wrappers is abysmal. I found the install instructions on some of them to be confusing or misleading and I posted a request for some help getting them working a month ago without a response.

So now I'm giving this wrapper a shot, I'll let you know how it goes!

EDIT: This wrapper works great. Installed just as instructed, no problems. I did notice some small flashing textures every now and then, but they hardly distracted me. Performance is quite decent. Had a crash when I tried to manually override resolution in Wineskin (with dual monitors - which I think caused the problem), but I set it back to automatic, adjusted my resolution in game, restarted the game and bingo, even with 2 monitors plugged in I've had a few hours of crash free game play! Thanks!

One small note on dual (or multiple) monitors: it appears your mouse cursor can leave the window and enter the secondary monitor, this effectively feels like the player cant look in a certain direction for a second until the mouse comes back. Mirroring or unplugging the second monitor fixes the issue (which I think has more to do with Wine than this wrapper).
hi, does this work fine on amd? the previous port posted does not have ati/amd support.

Thanks for the positive feedback, my wrapper isn't actually the best for this game though, hrachya has a port that works wonders compared to mine, http://portingteam.c...7220-far-cry-2/

Once you have the game installed, its simply a matter of moving it from my wrapper to his.
