Download Wrapper Planescape Torment 1.1

- - - - - Please vote for the Quality of this Port / Wrapper, not for the Game or Application!

One of the seminal RPGs to ship on the Infinity Engine, Planescape: Torment put players in the role of The Nameless One, a scarred amnesiac for whom death is only the beginning. With a storyline equal to novels in depth and breadth, it was critically acclaimed and has remained a fan favorite for over a decade.

Personal Notes:
I had some issues with HiPhish's port, but it got me familiar enough with the configuration I needed that I started a wrapper from scratch. I have included a fullscreen and windowed version. I've been playing at 1440x900 in a window and it's extremely stable.

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.8.2
- CPU: Core i5 2.4GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- Video: Intel HD3000 512MB
- Disk Space: 3.2GB

Known Issues:
I'm having a fatal crash when talking to the art gallery curator after visiting the Intellectual Brothel. I can't get past that dialog at all. If anyone is able to, please advise so I can figure out if it's my installation or not.

Launch the Planescape: Torment application and 'Install Windows Software'. I used the Good Old Games single installer but it should also work for your multi-cd collections.
As HiPhish mentions in his configuration, the best way to play this is with the mods installed. Use the guide at
http://thunderpeel20...lly-modded.html to walk you through which modules are best for you.
Make sure that the resolution you use for the Widescreen mod matches your max resolution.
This wrapper also uses the beautiful icon by Asceran from the Spellhold Studios forum.

  • Added windowed version which has been really stable for me. Played over 10 hours without a crash. Windowed Wrapper also includes the Torment Fixpacks and Widescreen mod installers.

Two questions:

Do you know if this wrapper works for OS X 10.5?

And could you provide a download link that does not use the MEGA service? (MEGA does not allow users of iOS or OS X 10.5 to download).

Inrideo uses Wineskin 2.5.8. don't supports OS X 10.5 or older. See http://wineskin.urge...t.php?postId=48
Thanks REBOOT. I've also updated the link with one to Dropbox.
Uploading a new version that's stable in windowed mode :) I played for 10 hours at 1440x900 before having a page fault. Still seemingly random but the game is performing great otherwise :)
Pasted URL was malformed and lead to 404. Here is the proper one:
Fixed. :)
Hi Inrideo, this is working great with the GOG installer.  I'm having trouble installing the widescreen mod though.  I was trying to follow HiPhish's instructions and I can get the mod to extract, but when I try to run the setup_widescreen.exe I get a hanging command prompt.  I'm running Wineskin 2.5.8 and WS9Wine 1.5.23.  Did you have similar problems (or a workaround).
So I the issue was the version of WeiDU used by setup-widescreen.exe.  I got around it by copying over it with another mod Setup-UB-PST.exe:

cp Setup-UB-PST.exe setup-widescreen.exe.

As a further note I then had trouble applying the patch because it couldn't find the data files.  I assume there was something wrong with the filepath in torment.ini, but instead of messing around in there I just copied all the data files over to the cache folder.  Then the patch works.  Deleting the cache folder afterwards doesn't affect the patch (which is handy because it's approximately ~1GB with all the data in there).
It's not working for me :-(

It says your version of windows is incorrect???
I installed Planescape: Torment using Wine without any special tricks or anything, and it runs fine on my MBA in 10.6.8.

I used the GOG version of Planescape, if that makes any difference.
Thanks for the wrapper, Inrideo. I'm going to try it as soon as the download is finished.

For the crash in the art gallery you mentioned in the description, it's a bug of the widescreen patch. There is an 'unofficially' patch (3.06b) because the original author is no longer support the mod. Check the gog or shs forums.
Tried everything I can, but can't get the GOG installed and running on my MacBook Pro running 10.8.5.

If anyone has any advice to get me going I would be ecstatic!
Everything is working perfectly with the windowed port. Thank you so much !
