ARMA 2 is a tactical shooter focused primarily on infantry combat, however it also features significant vehicular and aerial combat elements. The player is able to command AI squad members which adds a real-time strategy element to the game. This is further enhanced by introduction of the high command system, which allows the player to command multiple squads using the map. ARMA 2 is set primarily in the fictional Eastern European nation of Chernarus, (meaning "Black Rus"). The Chernarus landscape is based heavily on the Czech Republic; the home country of the developer.

Personal Notes:

Game seems to start fine, menu is fine, yet the performance in-game is low and and there are a few draw/shadow issues.

this wrapper also works with Operation Arrowhead

My System Specs:

- OS: OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2
- CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4.2GHz
- RAM: 16GB 1600MHz
- Video: 2GB MSI GTX 670 OC Edition
- Disk Space:   8GB

Known Issues:

  • Game sometimes closes after changing certain graphic settings, when you launch it again your desired settings will be applied.
  • In-game performance is low/laggy (even on my GTX 670 which is a gaming GPU)
  • There are some draw/shadow issues even with strictdraworder=enabled

Installation:

  • -Right click the wrapper, show package contents and open wineskin.app.
  • Click on advanced, tools, winetricks, click the 'apps' tab and select 'Steam'. THEN click run!
  • Let steam install.
  • Once its installed, go into wineskin.app within the wrapper, next to the steam launcher, and click on advanced.
  • Change the 'Windows EXE' line to: /Program Files/Steam/steam.exe and then exit wineskin.app.
  • Finally, run the wrapper, steam will launch, sign in to your steam account and download arma 2. Once its downloaded, click play!
Now, whenever you launch the wrapper, it will sign into steam and allow you to launch your game via your 'Steam Game Library'.

For 'non steam users':
Please note that I do not (in any way) promote piracy and that I highly recommend you PURCHASE the games that you want to play!

  • Right click the wrapper, show package contents and launch wineskin.app, then select install new software.
  • Locate the setup.exe file (that is within the .iso you probably downloaded, if you download an ISO, double click it to mount it!) and install the PC files by going through the setup.
  • -- Don't bother installing directx and vcrun if it asks you too. --
  • Then, go back into the contents of the wrapper, go to: drive_c ----> Program Files ----> arma 2 and paste a NoCD crack into the arma 2 folder. It should ask you to replace some files. When it does, click 'ok'.
The last step is to launch the wrapper!

What's New in Version 1.0 (See full changelog)

  • - Updated to the latest 1.7.9 engien which now supports steam again (2014)

Awesome, was waiting for someone crafty to get on this game. Fingers thoroughly crossed you can work out any kinks.

Feel free to give it a shot, technically the game works fully. The only thing thats holding it back is the low performance and occasional wine crash.
isn't there a connection between Arma II and DayZ?

please edit your comment and paste the log into a spoiler. Also, woudlnt mind some background info, posting a log without any other info doesnt really help.

Did the game start up at all? Are you using the steam version? Are you using a cracked version?

How do you make a spoiler?

And yeah, sorry about the lack of info, was in a hurry ;).

The game starts up just fine, i see the "Bohemia Interactive Presents", and bam, it crashes.

And as of lately, it wen't even a little past that, it wen't to the third screen (the screen after the "ArmA 2" screen), and bam, once again, crash.

And yes, i'm using the cracked version.
Tried it once again but with the FREE version, didn't help at all :C.

But instead of just crashing, it crashed, but then said "Bad serial given in Setup".

I had that issue when trying to run the steam version without having steam installed. Worked just fine when launching it from steam though. you might have an incorrect 'NoCD' crack installed or something.

for a spoiler, type [*spoiler] Text Here [*/spoiler]  without the * part, thats just so i can type the spoiler command without the forum actually displaying a spoiler haha.

like so;

Spoiler
