Resident Evil 4, known as Biohazard 4 (バイオハザード4 Baiohazādo Fō?) in Japan, is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and released by multiple publishers, including Capcom, Ubisoft, Nintendo Australia, Red Ant Enterprises and THQ Asia Pacific. The sixth main entry in the Resident Evil horror series, the game was originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in January 2005 in North America and Japan, and in March 2005 in Europe and Australia.
The story of Resident Evil 4 follows the U.S. government special agent Leon S. Kennedy, who is sent on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the President's daughter, who has been kidnapped by a sinister cult. Traveling to a remote rural area of Europe, Leon fights hordes of violent villagers and mutated monsters, and reunites with the mysterious spy Ada Wong. The game pioneered and popularized the "over the shoulder" third-person view perspective in video games.
First hinted at in early December 1999, Resident Evil 4 underwent a long development time during which four proposed versions of the game were discarded. Initially developed for the PlayStation 2, the first attempt was directed by Hideki Kamiya after producer Shinji Mikami requested him to create a new entry in the Resident Evil series. Nevertheless, it was decided to start development over again. The game was intended to be a GameCube exclusive as part of the Capcom Five, but a PS2 version was announced before the game was released for the GameCube. Resident Evil 4 was subsequently released for Microsoft Windows and Wii, and in heavily condensed versions for other platforms, including the iOS, mobile phones and Zeebo.

Personal Notes:

- Game runs fine using the 1080p resolution modification

- Havent encountered any crashing at all

- Should work fine with other mods including graphic enhancing mods such as texture packs.

My System Specs:

- OS: OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2
- CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4.2GHz
- RAM: 16GB 1600MHz
- Video: 2GB MSI GTX 670 OC Edition
- Disk Space required:   4.5GB

Known Issues:

  • Mousefix and Mousefix 2.0 Does Not seem to work in wine as of now. You'll have to use keyboard only or a gamepad when playing this game.

  • ENB Mod not yet tested in this wrapper.

Installation:

Please note that I do not (in any way) promote piracy and that I highly recommend you PURCHASE the games that you want to play!
  • Right click the wrapper, show package contents and launch wineskin.app, then select install new software.
  • Insert your RE4 Disc in finder and Locate the setup.exe file (if you download an ISO version, mount the ISO and setup.exe will be inside the ISO drive.) and install the PC files by going through the setup.
  • -- Don't bother installing directx and vcrun if it asks you too. --
  • Then, go back into the contents of the wrapper, go to: drive_c ----> Program Files ----> CAPCOM ---> resident evil 4 and paste a NoCD crack into the resident evil 4 folder. It should ask you to replace some files. When it does, click 'ok'.
The last step is to launch the wrapper!

Whats the name of that version? Is it the game with enhanced textures and stuff? I'm currently playing this with no modded textures or ENB series, just playing the default game in 1080p.

Sorry I never saw this before Dan, not sure how I missed it back then. I can't really remember the name of it is now. I had it backed up but the drive is a paper weight now...unless I take it in somewhere. I may have it backed up on my mom's drive cause I know I transferred some stuff over before mine died. When I get over there in the next couple weeks I'll get my files back and let you know....I also just sent you a pm with an ru tracker link....you may have to sign up to get it (use google translate to easily complete the registration if you don't know russian!) but I'm pretty sure that's where i got it originally.
pretty good So Far on Intel HD 4000
If you have problems with it just have to do the follow it: Right click on wrapper show content and open wineskins inside, after that go to advanced>tools>change engine used and change it for the WS9Wine1.7.1D3DBoost and ready to play :D

My system specs:
2.3Ghz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 Ram
Intel HD 3000 384MB
Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.1

Run Smoothly and Faster :3
How to I get the xbox 360 USB gamepad to work with this?  It doesn't work by default it seems.

Thanks!
am i the only one getting a very annoying flicker effect that refreshes the screen i'm on every time?
Just getting a black screen and crash error when I launch the game.  Tried using WS9Wine1.7.1D3DBoost but there was no difference. Any help appreciated!

this fixed my initial flickering issues where the whole game was extremely laggy, but now I have lagging issues when some explosives go off (incendiary grenades, explosive traps, fireballs, barrels, etc) and during some in game cutscenes (Like when the troll grabs you, and zombies change forms). Any recommendations? thanks

My specs:
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
Mac OSX Lion 10.8.4
aiight nm. fixed it by installing another version of re4. I guess it had something to do with what I downloaded originally.
Okay, this is my first time ever using Wineskin and wrappers so I'm a bit of a noob :P

Can someone please tell me where the setup.exe file is please?

I don't really understand the second step in your little guide. Thanks in advance.

if u downloaded an iso file, u have to mount it so that u can extract the files within it. After extracting, there should be a setup.exe of some sort. U need to open the package content of the provided wrapper and open wineskin and click install software. Then locate the setup.exe for the game. This will setup the game, but idk if u downloaded this online, but if u did, there should be a crack folder that was given when u extracted the iso. U need to copy the contents WITHIN the folder and then locate the game.exe (or whatever is the .exe to start the game) in installed folder in the wrapper. it should be in drive c>program files> capcom> resident evil 4. So just paste and replace those files, then click on the wrapper to play. Thats the gist of it.
hey guys. please help me
may RE4 keeps on crashing after few minutes of playing. error says: the program game.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. it happens in different occasions and time.
RE4 v.1.1.0

Mac os x 10.9.2 maverick
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
I know this post is a little old but for those of you who are having issues with flickering or crashes this was my solution: Right click wrapper->show contents and open up wineskin..once wineskin is open navigate to the screen options tab and under the "other options" section check the box that says " use x11 instead of mac drivers". If after this you are getting a game.exe error reopen wineskin go to the options tab and uncheck the box that says something like "force xquartz wm"...obviously if you do not have xquartz installed that shouldn't be an issue..Hope this helps.
Why is my game glitchy? It flashes constantly as I try to play. I downloaded a regular pc version of the game, downloaded the wrapper, clicked install.exe, installed everything onto the wrapper, used the crack on the exe folder, launched and the game flashes, but will play perfectly. Could you help me please? I have a early 2011 macbook pro 2.3Ghz 8gb ram
the doesn't necessarily flash its weird. Now that I look at it, it's like the content from the every loaded page keeps reloading itself in the most annoying way possible. I have to time every time the window is fully loaded so the game goes on to the next page, but still, it's not possible to play it at this time for me.
damnemall download the WS9Wine 1.7.1 Engine than Install in wineskin
