Download Wrapper War Thunder 1.0

War Thunder (formerly known as World of Planes) is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online combat flight simulator developed by Gaijin Entertainment (IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey). The game is currently in the open beta testing phase, and is constantly undergoing small to big changes to improve gameplay and eliminate as many bugs as possible.

Personal Notes:
Here comes my all-time favorite of the year. It's quite simple: if you're into Simulation or WWII or Massively multiplayer games then there's no reason you'll not be addicted to this game pretty soon.
It is frequently compared to World of Tanks but, having tested the two, I confirm that the games just do not race on the same track. War Thunder is just better in any terms (gameplay, graphics, historic researchs).
You currently only control warplanes but tanks and warships will be added pretty soon and will be able to fight each other on epic on one single epic batterfield.
Note that a wrapper already exists on Paulthetall website but hasn't been updated since March. The step-by-step installation process isn't available there neither.

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OS X 10.8.4
- CPU: CORE i5 2,5GHz
- RAM: 4 GB
- Video: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 Mo
- Disk Space: 500 Go

For best performances Mac OS X 10.8+ is highly recommended.

Known Issues:
The game works flawlessly. However you might experiencing low framerate as the game is quite demanding on graphics requirements. To prevent this, go to the launcher -> graphic settings and turn off all optional graphic options and set the others to low.
Also, enable "old videocards support". The game will still look great and you'll be able to play with a decent framerate.

If you have a Nvidia card, my wrapper might not work. In that case, please download the nvidia dedicated one from PaulTheTall here.

If you experience some bugs/glitches in-game, please leave a detailled feedback and specify your system. Otherwise, I can't help you.
Also, I am unable to access to the "missions" (offline) mode. I get the following error: "Error 82220003: Connection to battle server was lost. You will be returned to menu". If any of you encounter this msg or succeed to play in missions mode, please let me know.

There's a little trick with the installation: the launcher will crash before downloading the whole game. Not a problem, just follow the indications:

1) Register on War Thunder website here. You need an account in order to play and save your progression.
2) Download the Wrapper from this page, drag it into your Applications folder and open it. The launcher is pre-installed. It will start downloading the game files but soon an "exeption" error will appear. Don't mind it, click "ok" and click on "download torrent" on the bottom right of the launcher.
3) Download the torrent (approx. 6 Go).
4) Once download is finished, copy all the files it contains. Then right clik on the wrapper -> drive_c -> program files -> War Thunder and paste/replace all files in there.
5) Close all windows and open the wrapper. It will analyse the files just added. When finished, reboot the wrapper. Then click on "play" and log in.

Tips: To avoid downloading the whole game everytime it needs to be updated (approx. twice a week), store your downloaded files on your HD and use this folder to dl the new update files from the torrent. It will replace the old ones, so you never have to dl more than the update requires.

Please feel free to leave questions or comments, I will do my best to help you. I will also update the wrapper when performances can be improved so remember to check from time to time if a new version is available. If you appreciated my port, please rate it. Enjoy!

Very well done. I have it set on the lowest settings, with the "Old Video Cards Support" thing checked. Looks fantastic. Only issue is that bullets are big squares. Everything else looks nice though.

As far as downloading the game, if it looked like the launcher froze, I just force-quit it and restarted. it would go through verifying the files that were already there, then start the download from where it left off.
Thanks Maxwell for your feedback! About these square bullets: what is your graphic card? I found a thread from a mac user on the official WT forum who had the same issue with a Nvidia card. Maybe have a try with the dedicated nvidia port on Paulthetall website here and let me know if it fixed the problem.
Yeah, Mine's an Nvidia card, 8600M GT. I might try paulthetall's port here in a bit.

But yeah, excellent game. Looks great, plays great. If I'm adventurous I'll see if I can get my gamepad to work.
I can't go through any tutorial so I can't play Historical battles or earn bonus "eagles". It is freezing like hell. Also sometimes there is an "ugly smoke (texture bug)" coming rom the ground. Multiplayer works great though. It happens on all settings.

Works Great but the ground is like CRAZY!! the texture changes all the time (maybe it's the fps) but other than that works great! Just have to get good
Game pad works. Tried paulthetall's port, still had square bullets. Works good though!
Hey so my system is MacOSX Lion 10.7.5 with an Intel HD3000 graphics card. And the game works great the only issue I have is that the propellor on my planes has like black corners, still has the spinning effect so it is not that much of a nuisance. And also whenever I destroy a plane or something explodes the explosions have those same black corners.

Just enabled old video card support, and it fixed the propellor issue, but the explosions still appear with black corners. Other than that the game runs at a good 25-30 framerate. So it actually is nice!
where is the download when i click on it it takes me to some website

ok got it now
How did you get it, eQxMaSTerZ? I feel super dumb.

For the wrapper, just click on the Download wrapper button or go to this link.
For the game itself, you have to register here and follow the download indications.

Hope that helps.
When I download the torrent it opens with text edit and looks like a bunch of letters/numbers/symbols mixed together. And when I copy it I can't paste it into the WT folder.... help please. Ok there are some random stuff but it looks like a bunch of logs something you would see in console...
