The gameplay of Quake Live consists of players attempting to frag more of their opponents than any other player or team in a given match. This is achieved by navigating a 3D environment while collecting health, armor, weapons, ammo and various power-ups in an effort to survive and to damage your opponent or opponents until their health reaches zero. Quake Live was released as a free version of Quake III: Gold (Quake III and its expansion pack, Team Arena) available only through a web browser.

Port Info:
Wineskin 2.5.12

Personal Info:
This port was pretty easy to create. GDI+winxp was installed through Winetricks, Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 are also both installed. The game requires the built in Mono to function correctly

The login save information function does not seem to work so the only drawback is the need to login every time the game is played. Which isn't so bad really seeing as how there is no more Mac support for this game.

*edit - installing dotnet2.0 will fix this issue. This can be done easily by using Winetricks accessed by launching Wineskin found in the Package Contents of the app.

The game files are not included in this port. You must login with your Quake login information and the files will begin to transfer to the wrapper.

Create your Quake Live login id
Mount the dnkqklv.dmg
Drag and drop the app to your preferred gaming folder
Double click the app to access the launcher
Log in with your previously created Quake Live login ID
Wait for the game files to download into the wrapper
When the files have completely transferred click PLAY

*edit - Mediafire link added courtesy of thedoctor45 ... his port has dotnet2.0 installed, whereas mine uses Wine's built in mono

I can't download it. It gives me a: Temporary Error, Retrying.
Hey nice, I fixed the login/launcher problem, you just need to install dotnet20 with winetricks, and then you can use saved login info and the launcher also displays news items. the problem remains how to get the most responsive mouse input out of WINE since it's pretty sketchy
I'm not having any mouse issues like that, I just increased the X and Y sensitivity in the game options and set the Wineskin screen options to use the mac driver. It's smooth as can be.

I figured if mono wouldn't allow the login remember me feature to work than dotnet2 wouldn't have helped. My bad...I'll add it to the description.

@xriise, let me know if you're still having trouble. I may be able to put one up on mediafire
nice port but for me the app won't shut down properly when exiting the game - it just stays in the dock. I'm using Wineskin 2.5.4 with Wine 1.7.10 btw. Might be related to my old System too but it's still weird.
btw here's an optional icon for the game:

Seems like it's a Mono related bug in Wine - I made a new Wrapper that has just .NET 2.0 installed and the app quit properly - you can grab it here: https://www.mediafir...9w7p37sz04p8qxq
Nice, I'll put that link in the in with the downloads if you don't mind.
Excellent work!!!! Works like a charm ... even with almost twice of the FPS rate I had with the old official client. Great!!! Thanks a lot!! :D
Oh my god. Thank you so much!
When I  hit the play button Quake Live closes, please help ;(

P.S. I'm not good with this type of stuff
Thanks for sharing this, I thought the game was gonna have framedrops because it's a port but it actually runs very smooth, great framerate.

Altho I'm having this mouse problem http://a.pomf.se/sddwoe.webm does anyone know how to fix that? I can't move the mouse while shooting because that happens; I thought it was a conflict with SmoothMouse but it still happens even with SmoothMouse turned off.

I'm using thedoc's link

[edit] whoops it was SmoothMouse, had to restart the OS after turning SM off, game works perfectly now :D
Intel HD5200 works, i just need 120hz screen Mac naow (:

I think I found it. Right click the Quake Live Application and click Show package contents. Then go to drive_c. From there, go to users>Wineskin>Application Data>id Software>quakelive>home>baseq3>qzconfig.cfg

Full path: Macintosh HD â–¸ Applications â–¸ Quake Live â–¸ Contents â–¸ Resources â–¸ drive_c â–¸ users â–¸ Wineskin â–¸ Application Data â–¸ id Software â–¸ quakelive â–¸ home â–¸ baseq3
says application quake live can't be opened. help?
