Battlefield 2 is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE), with contributions by Trauma Studios. Battlefield 2 was published by Electronic Arts and is the third full game in the Battlefield series, released on June 21, 2005 in North America for Microsoft Windows. The latest version is v1.50, which was released on September 1, 2009 and added the content of the Euro Force and Armored Fury booster packs, as well as the Highway Tampa and Operation Blue Pearl maps.
Players fight in a modern battlefield, using modern weapon systems. Battlefield 2 is a first-person shooter with some strategy and role-playing game elements.
The single-player features missions that involve clashes between U.S. Marines, China and the fictional Middle Eastern Coalition. The multiplayer aspect of the game allows players to organize into squads that come under the leadership of a single commander to promote teamwork. The story takes place in the early 21st century during a fictional world war between various power blocs: China, the European Union, the fictional Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC), Russia and the United States. The game takes place in different fronts, as the Middle East and China are being invaded by US and EU forces, and the United States is being invaded by Chinese and MEC forces. A sequel, Battlefield 3, was released in October 2011. On June 30th 2014, EA shutdown the online play functionality, citing low player counts.

Personal Notes:
I recommend using the default directory for the Battlefield 2 Installation: C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/
Tested only with the Battlefield 2 Complete Collection, patched to 1.51.

Mods Tested and Working on this Wrapper so far:
- Forgotten Hope 2
- Alpha Project
- Allied Intent Extended 2.0
- Project Reality should work, but I haven't gotten around to test it yet.

Punkbuster is already installed on this wrapper. To update it or reinstall it for your version of Battlefield 2, use the pbsetup.exe inside "Program Files".

Please use this specific Wrapper if you want to download the game through Origin:

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OSX 10.9.4
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2.3 GHz
- RAM: 8GB
- Video: Intel HD3000
- Disk Space: 850MB for the Wrapper 6GB for the Game

Known Issues:
- Mod instability due to the state of the Mods. This is not a problem of the wrapper. But might cause crashes once in a while.

Please report any issues you encounter.

1. Open the Package Contents of the Wrapper with right click
2. Open Wineskin.app and choose the Install option
3. Install Battlefield 2 through Disks
4. Patch the game to version 1.51
5. Start the Game through a Modlauncher or the original .Exe file

Using an existing install or Origin Files
1. Open the Package Contents of the Wrapper with right click
2. Place the games files into "drive_c/Program Files"
4. Use the EA Key changer inside the main game folder under "Support" to apply new registry settings
4.2. If the EA key changer somehow won't work, use this tool: https://www.germanda...downloadsview-6 (Instructions on the website)
5. Start the Game through any Modlauncher or the original .Exe file

Thanks im downloading it now, i've been looking for another bf2 port ever since the last one became outdated and stopped working, hope it works.
Everything seems to be running fine good job.
Thanks a bunch! Tested any mods yet? I'll mark Nvidia compatibility as green.
Anyone know if AIX mod works?
Haven't tested it yet with the wrapper. You probably have to test this yourself. It should work, since all prerequisites are already installed in the Wrapper. You just have to install Battlefield 2 in a way, that it is recognized in the registry, so the mods know where to install the content. The best way would be using the Key changers (if you are not installing it with the disks) I mentioned above in the descritpion, they create those registry entries.

I'm using this Modlauncher at the Moment: http://www.762-ranki...bf2modlauncher/  So all mods listed as compatible should work on this wrapper (Including AIX), unless the individual mods have some complicated architecture for textures or interface.
poop. Getting a fatal error message every time I try to launch the game
"Bf2.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close"

Anyone know how to fix this problem? I have a MBPro with Intel Iris Pro and I'm installing the game via disc (I have a PC copy).
Did you patch the game to version 1.5? If not or even if you did, you probably have to apply a no cd crack (a crack  for the wrong version can also cause problems). I haven't tested AIX on this wrapper, so there is a possibility that it just won't work. But since it's the bf2.exe that is causing problems it is likely that your current installation may be the issue. Try to adjust your screen resolution before starting the game. Maybe it defaults at some unrecognizable value.

Edit: Just tested AIX 2.0 and it seems to work. I installed the mod files, the map files, used the modlauncher I mentioned above: http://www.762-ranki...bf2modlauncher/ and started a singleplayer match.

If nothing seems to work, please open Wineskin.app and do a test run of the game and share the "LastRunWine.log" after it crashed (Wineskin will ask you if you want to view it). Maybe I can figure out whats causing this.
