Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is a WWII-themed tactical first-person shooter video game developed and published by Tripwire Interactive. It is a sequel to Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. The title focuses heavily on the Battle of Stalingrad The game was released on 13 September 2011. The game contains many new features, including a new first-person cover system combined with blind firing, first person collision detection, as well as an entirely new system of statistics tracking and player development.

Personal Notes:
- Work in Progress Port.
- Punkbuster is already installed under drive_c/Program Files/Punkbuster
- Although not the worst, generally bad performance. Dedicated graphic cards (512MB+) or Intel HD4000 and higher should play this fine on lower settings. No Guarantees.

Thanks to thanoulas Unreal Engine 3 Fix and the most recent Engine from Stefan Dösinger, I finally got Red Orchestra 2  / Rising Storm working. It runs fairly well on my hardware, although on lowest possible settings (with a few config tweaks). I didn't test this for hours on end, so I'll appreciate any effort and anyone who is willing to test this and download the 20+ GB for the game.

My System Specs:
- OS: Mac OSX 10.9.4
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2.3 GHz
- RAM: 8GB
- Video: Intel HD3000
- Disk Space: 1.4GB for the Wrapper 22GB for the Game

Known Issues:
- Sound issues. Some sounds, like overflying reconaissance planes or tanks driving in a distance can be distorted
- Long startup time. It takes up to 5 minutes to start the game through steam. Be patient.
- Bad Performance. You need a dedicated Graphics card for this or a Intel HD4000 or higher.
- Punkbuster Error. From time to time, servers will kick the player right after joining a game because of a punkbuster error. Rejoining should fix this.
- Game Resets the Configuration .ini (ROEngine.ini) on every start. Try to delete the CleanIni.bat from the wrapper

Fresh Installation through Steam:
1. Start the Wrapper
2. Let Steam download itself and login
3. Download the Game, complete the first time installation and start playing.

You may need to update punkbuster in case you encounter any errors. You can find it under drive_c/Program Files/Punkbuster

Installation with existing files:
1. Start the Wrapper
2. Let Steam download itself, login and log out
3. Open the Wrapper with right click -> show package contents
4. Place your existing Red Orchestra 2 Folder in Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common
5. Start the Wrapper, login into steam and begin to install Red Orchestra 2. Steam should fetch all existing files and patch them if needed

Hi there,

Just reporting that I tried the wrapper and downloaded the game, but unfortunately it won't install on my machine. After I guess checking the "CleanIni.bat" file Steam gives me an unknown error message. I've tried removing the cleanini file, clearing its contents, etc, with no effect. I'm also on OSX with 10.9.4

CPU: Intel Core i5, 2.5 GHz
RAM: 4 Gb
Video: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512mb

Edit: Found a workaround. To anyone experiencing this problem. Download this file http://www.microsoft...n.aspx?id=14422, extract it and put it in the "drive c" folder in the wineskin. Then set your launch options to open "RO2Redist.exe (in the windows folder inside the Steam Red orchestra directory). Run this file, then launch steam and you should be golden.

Anyways Thanks for the wrapper

Edit 2: Everything seems to work fine for me except for this game breaking glitch pictured in the link:

Not sure what this is exactly but any help would be appreciated
Hi. This wrapper is fantastic as it's got me actually playing the game. However I'm getting kicked from servers due to a punkbuster error (could not initialise the exe)
Any suggestions?
And thanks heaps for the wrapper, I've been pissing about trying to get .net working for ages and then I found this. So, kudos!!

Run this script in  your mac terminal you'll have to do this everytime you start the game

COPY BELOW HERE
""""""""""""""""""""""
#!/bin/bash

#punkBloop keeps PnkBstrB.exe running while PnkBstrA.exe is running.
# DO NOT USE pnk="$(ps -u $USER | grep PnkBstr*)" BECAUSE IT IS NOT UPDATED!

export WINEPREFIX=/home/$USER/.wine WINEARCH=win32

while ps -u $USER | grep PnkBstrA.exe
do
if ! ps -u $USER | grep PnkBstrB.exe
then
wine "C:\windows\system32\PnkBstrB.exe"
fi
sleep 5s
done

exit 0

I used new blank steam wrapper but copied .net SP 351 from this wrapper (it can be canceled but it will not install otherwise?) and all of the libraries overrides settings and winetricks like in this wrapper. Then changed engine to WS9WineCX15.1.0 (http://portingteam.c...10/#entry105522) and it works without glitches, except that you still need to run in terminal this "punkbuster script"
The wrapper doesn't open when clicked on any tips?
