-Personal Notes

WARNING:
Mega needs firefox with openDns in your macosx to assure you a download without corrupted files...
  • PES2017  Settings.app can be opened within Wrapper's folder; then you can set your controller's type and his buttons, (choose Xinput for 360 controller), resolution and  picture's quality and other things...
  • Microsoft 360 controller - Recommended - (install these drivers on your mac: https://github.com/3...roller/releases ); then copy the two files included in this archive inside the executable folder of the game installed within the wrapper; XboxOne controller - it could works with the same drivers and files -not tested-
  • I've included an EXTRA folder within the Main folder of my wrapper; It includes various usefulls tools from evo-web pes2017 editing forum; I hope you can appreciate this...
  Tools included are:
  • Camera tool by nesa24 (you can change camera pressing the 0 key on your keyboard if in game you select the Custom Camera)
  • CriPackedFileMaker (to open and repack old and new .cpk files)
  • DpFilelist generator (to apply .cpk files as patches in your download folder of the game)
  • PES 2017 Selector tool (a resolution changer also for 4K, and also an ON/OFF selector for  konami updates
  • PES sides unlocker by nesa24 (to unlock sides of gamepads used during a cup or league)
  • PES patcher (only the Launcher) by nesa24 (it's a gameplay patch by nesa24;  download the tool's from nesa24's blog and put it into the pes2017 installation folder within the wrapper.
tools by nesa24  of my v1.01 wrapper, except the side unlocker it's for 1.02 version of the game, are for the 1.01 game version...

Check the nesa24 blog to see if new version of the tools will be released for more recents versions of the game...
in that case you must open the EXTRA folder then the TOOLS alias folder and update them using the same name for the various exe inside the various folders

EDIT:

How to add the Sider by juce (new tool):
http://portingteam.c...omment_id=60798

the same above procedure can be used also to add other new extra tools inside the wrapper
  • If you have an Iris Graphic Card, read the "Know Issue" section  below
  • It seems that the performances  are not good (stuttering) with a not very recent and good hardware... So be sure to set the Settings file  with right resolution and graphic quality before play.
  • If you have  problems  you could enable or disable "the direct3d boost" feature of the wineskin's engine:  Select the PES2017.app with right click and choose "show package contents"... Launch Wineskin, select "Set Screen Option" and check or uncheck the flag on "use direct3d boost (if available)". This feature is disabled by default. Who has a good processor could try to keep the cheek enabled to increase performances...
-My System Specs:

- OS: OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite
- CPU: Core 2 Duo 2,53 GHz
- RAM: 6 GB
- Video: nVidia 9800m GTS 1024Mb
- Disk Space:   10 GB  (depending how many commentary languages you install)

-Known Issues:

The wrapper could not work with macOS High Sierra...
In this case read carefully this thread: http://portingteam.c...os-high-sierra/

Missed some light/shadows and blur effects respect the game on Windows OS

If you have problems with the Settings.app read Here...

if you have issues with Stuttering or input lags during the match, go inside the pro evolution Soccer 2017 installation folder and open the antilag.cfg file, modify it following what i written here_
http://portingteam.c...omment_id=60466

Online Multiplayers not tested

If you have a VRAM issue or you have  Intel and Iris or others videocards that are not fully recognized by the port:

you can try to open wineskin within the wrapper and then disable inside "Set Screen Options" the flag for the auto detect GPU's feature... Then go on advanced/tool/winetricks/Settings and set your videomemorysize=1024; It could help you)

You can have bad performances and/or stuttering  with a not suitable hardware.

The game is designed for max 1920x1080 so if you have bad performances consider this fact wherever you use other resolutions...

You can use quartz-debug playing in windowed mode to see yours Fps during the gameplay

Installation (Type 1)
(If you have a copy of the game installation folder taken from the Steam installed in a Windows partition)

Copy the "Pro Evolution Soccer 2017" folder within this path inside the PES2017.app:

drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/

if MacOS tell you the Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 folder  already exists, click on Yes and merge it to finish

install Steam through winetricks (only for the original updated game)   or a valid  nosteam crack if nedeed and if exists

Optional: Install the PTE patch 6.5 to update  licenses, uniforms, formations and more to the  season 2017/2018 (winter transfers included)

Installation (type 2)
Steam for Windows :
update the wrapper's engine at least with this one...

Open my ".dmg" file you downloaded through this thread

Copy & Paste the "PES 2017" folder inside your Applications or wherever  you want (for example into your desktop)

Now Open the PES 2017 and launch the PES2017.app

Click on "Advanced" then click on the "tools" tab

Now click on Winetricks  and select apps\steam then click RUN to install Steam into the wrapper

Once steam is installed, close the winetricks windows and select the "Configuration" Tab

Check the Windows EXE box contains this path:

/Program Files/Steam/steam.exe

Click on Test Run and Steam will be launched...

Download and install the game through the steam store

Once the game is installed you can play launching the pes2017.app within your Applications folder

Optional: Install the PTE patch to update  licenses, uniforms, formations and more...

Warning: if you had issues with the steam installation, read this alternative way...

Enjoy!

Warning: if you haven't yet purchased the game and you think to buy the DVD retails version, you must know that, this year, the DVD version of the game doesn't contain the game! It contains only a steam setup with a valid steam key to downlaod the steam version of the game through an internet connection!

Warning cpy users: http://portingteam.c...omment_id=60499

Quote

Using a crack:

If you aren't  interested to launch steam every time you want to play offline and you haven't an internet connection to start the game, you can try to search a valid CPY crack modified for the version of your game installed and respective DLC (1.01 , 1.03... 1.04... etc...) and copy that crack within your game installation folder...

In that case you have to change the path of the Windows EXE  box (into wineskin/advanced/Configuration) to this:

/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Pro Evolution Soccer 2017/pes2017.exe

Enjoy

strange, @jimmy didn't advise us  about that issue   to open my .dmg file with  Sierra

Sorry! I'll explain better: when I re-downloaded the wrapper without corrupted files and tried to open, it gave me this message:
"Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers".
This happens because in macOS Sierra if you go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > you'll find: Allow apps downloaded from: App Store / App Store and Identified Developer. So there's no more third "Anywhere" option.
This command put back the missing third option.
It was just a suggestion (you could probably avoid even with right click > Open on .dmg file).

I don't remember exactly (it was one week ago :)), but I opened the dmg, it extracted itself and pulled to Applications. I'm sure I didn't take any command line.

so, as I suspected the @asaker's & @portevil's  issues are  due by the corruption of the dmg through the download from mega...

it's the same for me: the first time I launched the wrapper (with files corrupted), it extracted itself without message. The second time instead with the alert message "Your security...etc".
I noticed that we have the same MBP mid 2012 - Intel HD 4000 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB.
I've tested PES 2017 today and I've noticed a little stuttering performance, even at low resolution.
PES 2016 was more fluid (on my MBP better than PES 2015 too), even when sometimes, after more matches, it slowed down a little.
I'm trying to change some settings: how about your experience? did you make some chenges in settings?

the 1.01 version of the game (now the game is at v1.02) it can present stuttering also on many version of Windows with high level hardware, because it's bad optimized as every first release of any  pes...

the 1.02 version of the game it's better optimized and more fluid

However
if you have a geforce gt 650m you should use it for gaming and not the low end intel hd 4000; you should try to force your macbook to use  the geforce GT 650m while gaming

If  your discrete graphic card (nvidia gt 650m) isn't recognized by the setting.app of pes2017, you should read again the first post of the thread where I explained what you have to do in case you have issues with Vram and vga and their correct recognization

Another thing, could you show me an image of the files contained into your installation folder of the game?

CPU / RAM / GPU / VRAM are all good in Settings > Specifications tab
I've tried Winetricks > videomemorysize = 1024 but doesn't change much
Direct 3D Boost is now enable
Auto detect GPU.. is disable

A little better, more fluid. Thanks
I used to lag in online games only :)))

Hey guys, thank you NRG, portevil and jimmy for the inputs. I downloaded using Firefox, and was able to install the game and everything is running great. Except for slow and stuttering.

NRG could you show me where can I download CPY V1.02?
@NRG
Small tip.

In all your wrappers Wineskin - Configuration - Wine Debug is err+all, fixme+all.

Some games push millions of those debug messages so for performance reasons it should always be Wine Debig: -all
or -all,fixme-all,err-all,warn-all,trace-all

asaker, on 05 November 2016 - 07:21 AM, said:

it doesn't exist at the current moment... you must have the original steam game; next month konami will be release also the official update 1.03 of the game...

if your hardware isn't good enough and you have slow game; try through the Settings.app to set picture quality low; and reduce the resolution

for stuttering read how to change frame rate limiter in the way I explained above to portevil; it could be your hardware needs at least a lower FPSlimit number

thank's I will try your tip to see if something changes, but with pes through wineskin and my port, eventuals performances issues can be due to othesr factors that, cause my bad english, I can't explain here in only two words ;)

I had a bit lag, but I did what NRG offered in antilog.con file. It got better, but not perfectly. I tried full screen with 1280*800, 1152*720 with medium picture quality, I tried window mode with 1152*720 medium and low picture quality, but there is a bit lag. Not so much, but there is.
I don't know how can it be better. Maybe with lower FPS? What does Renderaheadlimit mean?

try disable the frame rate limiter

RenderAheadLimit=0
FPSlimit=0

then open the game in windows mode and use Quartz debug to see how many FPS the game run into your hardware with your settings

If the game run costantly to 60 fps you have a good hardware to play it

If It runs above 60 fps but not costantly you have a very good hardware also for the port but you could have stuttering because the frame rate isn's blocked to 60 fpsM; in this case try to set the antilag.cfg something like this:

RenderAheadLimit=4
FPSlimit=57

and see if quartz debug show you 60 fps during the match with a good feeling for your game experience

If your game run less than 60 fps, your hardware isn't good enough to play the port at the perfect performances so the game could have stuttering because isn't blocked at the same framerate

In this last case it's better to search  to block the framerate to 30 fps, and with my hardware I found the best to obtain 30 fps it's to set the FPSLimiter as this:

RenderAheadLimit=5
FPSlimit=27

If your hardware run the game at less than 30 fps the game will not run with a good results for your eyes

@jimny:

RenderAheadLimit: Limit how many frames ahead are rendered to reduce input lag.

I repeat if you have the game not updated to 1.02 version a bit of stuttering lag it's possible also if you have a very good hardware because se first release of the game wasn't good optimized by konami

Next month konami will relaease the 1.03 version that presumibly it will better respect 1.02 that is better respect 1.01
