An OS X benchmark thread has been started by cluthz and is slowly earning its success, find out how fast your graphics card runs on different engine or submit your own results here and here
Wine and Crossover Updates
Doh123 has recently released a few updates for Wine, like she normally does, but with a step forward using the mac driver which now supports OpenGL and hence no longer needs X11. Wineskin is currently beta testing 2.5.10 with better mac driver support.
Version 1.5.28 has limited supports, though 1.5.29 and CX12.1.2 has good support.
The current development release for wine is 1.5.30. Which should be available for Wineskin Winery soon. More details can be found here.
In other news, Jeremy White from Crossover recently posted an update on the CodeWeavers website outlining whats been happening for the past 8 months and what is to come this year for CrossOver and Wine.
Nothing great has been said about the last 8 months, just small ‘under the hood’ changes which can be found in the current wine release. What is more interesting though, is what details he gave about the upcoming year.... *Brace yourselves*....
Developers will begin working on adding DirectX 10 compatibility layers... whilst improving support for other applications. Also, CrossOver will get a user-interface makeover.
In the Industry Business
EA has bought the rights to all Star Wars games from Disney and DICE LA has been put in charge of the Battlefront series. Though don’t expect any Star Wars games soon. (Special thanks to VitalBlindFury and cluthz for information)
In the meantime, GOG.com has a huge batch of OS X games up to buy for cheap prices including “Witcher 2â€, “Alone in The Dark seriesâ€, “Physchonauts†and “Don’t Starve†plus much more.
Whats been porting?
Ports and Porters alike have recently gone a bit nuts lately, with great ports of new games such as;
Dead Island Riptide, Neverwinter Online and Sanctum 2 by DanIsTheMan
Tomb Raider and Fifa 13 by HyperTsunaz
Poker Night by XxLAZERZWillxX
Metro: Last Light and Dead Space 1, 2 and 3 by SilentJacket
FC3: Blood Dragon and Dishonored by Thanoulas
Well thats it for this week porters, as always don’t forget to check the Port Nexus for some cool ports (in that sexy app store format) and Happy Gaming

Until next time,
~ Skylarzz

Btw, i would love to help contribute to the Weekly Dose. I have lots of free time on my hands and i usually stop porting when i have my Bootcamp up and running (which i hadn't just a few days ago).
