The Longest Journey (Den lengste reisen) is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Funcom, a Norwegian studio, for the PC. First published by IQ Media Nordic in Norway in 1999, it was later localized for and released in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, and the United States. The game was originally written and recorded in English, though most of the localizations were released before the English version.

The game takes place in the parallel universes of Arcadia: a world of magic, and Stark: a world of science and technology. The protagonist, April Ryan, is an 18-year-old art student living in Stark. She learns that the line between the two worlds is growing thin, causing chaos on both sides. April also learns that she is a Shifter, one who is capable of walking between these worlds, and she is then tasked with restoring the Balance between the dimensions before it is too late.

Personal comments:
Finally I got it working. Graphical glitches are fixed as far as they can with wine and the available patches (fixed the partly rendered characters, black polygons lightning and text-message-box issue). Additionally I picked the CoreAudio Driver from 1.3.34 because it was broken in 1.3.32 (which this build is based on).
The only problem I can see now is the mouse issue. But with my trackpad and my standard settings (3-finger sliding for click and hold) it controls very well. Please report if it's ok to control with a dedicated mouse.
When there will be a patch for it i will update this wrapper immediately.

Port Info
WineSkin 2.5 Wine 1.3.32 patched and CoreAudioDriver from 1.3.34

Requirements:
an Intel MAC

Known Issues:
- when interacting with objects (to get the look, speak, hand window) you have to click and move the cursor a bit at the same time
- when exiting from main menu a dialogue box appears. it's quite choppy when the box is open.

Installation:
1. copy the "The Longest Journey.app" anywhere you want

2. Install from a previous installation:
Spoiler

OR install the game from DVD / ISO via the wrapper through the WineSkin.app:
Spoiler

3. apply the 1.61 patch that is included with the wrapper, if you haven't already (if you did a fresh install for instance)
Spoiler

4. you are ready to go!

Oh great !!! Just I've a graphic bug... You can watched on my video

http://www.youtube.c...eature=youtu.be
i don't get it, what is the graphics bug there, can you explain it a little bit? does it also appear in fullscreen? i have not played it much.
I installed the game like you said. The game bug when there is a superposition of such plans/objects. As in the video. This problem is in fullscreen and window mode. The patches have been installed... I've got the 2cd's version.

The problem is about my configuration from my mac ? I have the same configuration as you.

ahh okay i see... i'll play around with the wine configuration and perhaps i'll find the issue. but perhaps we have to live with this.
But this is the first version that works! This is the only big problem I see  ^^
You will tell me if you found a solution for that object is not moving
I again will have to say this is not really a green port but yellow at best and should be in the work in progress section.

I appreciate the effort and your contributions.

:)
thanks for the upload! hope you can answer some issues i'm having. the first is a graphical glitch, at the beginning when she is supposed to be standing on the edge of the cliff she's actually dispensed in the air far from the edge, similarly when i see corez for the first time he literally slides further away from me as i get closer to him, that happens in another scene like the gallery. and the second one is ... quitting freezes my comp. I'm running it on an 2007 imac.
Does not work with ATI. There is no texture and no z-buffer on OpenGL context
Does anyone else have trouble talking to Cortez in the gallery? He doesn't appear, anyone know how to get around this?

Yes I'm stuck at the gallery cause he's not there.

What's happening is that in all the scenes where there's a camera pan, all characters get wildly displaced which can even put them outside the screen. I suspect that's what happened to Cortez. So I'll be stuck there until that's fixed!

Same problem as me and yeahvicky. Whenever there's a camera pan in the scene, all objects get wildly displaced. And the makes it impossible to talk to cortez in the gallery.
I'm having the same problem with Cortez. Anyone have a fix?
sorry to hear this. there is no fix, yet. this bug isn't also in the winehq because most people were not able to play it that far using wine. there are no more patches for it - this is the best we can get for now. when i have time i will try to apply the patches fot the newest wine version but don't expect too much.
having cursor issues. cant seems to pick anything up. tried the 'three finger method' not only is it vague, but it doesn't work for me. Any clarifications/tips? id be so very very grateful :-)
Same Problem as blessphemy.
As I remember there was a hover over cursor selection... Anyone got any further with this?
