#94047 Final Fantasy 8 (on mac)

Posted by BiffNZ on 13 February 2013 - 06:13 AM in Ask for Help (Game Ports)

I really want to play this game... is the emulator-rom version avoided because the resolution is rubbish? or would it look more or less the same?

#94038 Final Fantasy 8 (on mac)

Posted by BiffNZ on 13 February 2013 - 04:23 AM in Ask for Help (Game Ports)

Hi guys - Just want to say thanks for your help earlier with my earlier FF7 tech difficulties.

Now it's time to help sort out ff8 :-)

I'm running macbook pro laptop
I have just installed it, copied the 'no-cd' files into the dir and tried running the game. The game crashes immediately on launch.
The error title: Program error.
Error: "The program FF8.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The FF8.exe file is the one i copied from the no cd file.

If you have any ideas, please share! Thanks,

Joshua.

#93356 Final Fantasy 7 (On Mac)

Posted by BiffNZ on 25 January 2013 - 02:16 AM in Ask for Help (Game Ports)

I sorted out the window mode, but I have another problem.

I'm up to the part when you need to fight Rufus, but to continue you need to press "start"
There seems to be no start button - tried all the keys on the mac's keyboard and with a plug-in keyboard.
The readme says that "insert" is start key, but it doesn't work.
It looks like I can't continue without pressing "start".

#93353 Final Fantasy 7 (On Mac)

Posted by BiffNZ on 24 January 2013 - 08:49 PM in Ask for Help (Game Ports)

Hi there!

I have just started playing FF7 on my macbook pro - the bottom of the launcher window displays:

" CXEx Wrapper Version: 6.3.5 using Engine: CXEx Ebony"

I'm already aware of the force quit issue with this game, however my concern is not being able to 'alt-tab' or even switch out of the game back to desktop without having to force quit.

Does anyone know how I can move in an out of this game quickly or some kind of window mode option or perhaps hotkeys?

Cheers guys, and keep up the good work!

Joshua.
