Oh. Should I take this to porting requests, or is there no chance for me playing this game on my PPC?
Zero chance.

#99918 MAME Wrapper?

Posted by Headrush69 on 29 November 2013 - 02:32 AM in Gaming

Yes MAME was experimental, but works perfectly for every game I play.

SDLMAME has a built in GUI now that runs when you start the app without any parameters. Although not glamorous it works well.

No need to mess with terminal to make starting SDLMAME work.
Just use AppleScript Editor and make a application with a single line like this:
do shell script "cd /Applications/mame0150-64bit; ./mame64"

Now you can just double click that icon to start MAME.

#99906 MAME Wrapper?

Posted by Headrush69 on 28 November 2013 - 02:41 AM in Gaming

Don't see much need for running MAME with Wine as HiPhish said, SDLMAME is functionality just the same and works great.

You can run MAME in OpenEmu now, I prefer using it over QMC2 frontend for MAME.
No need waiting for 1.0 release of OpenEmu ;-)

#98333 Wineskin Winery failed to create wrapper

Posted by Headrush69 on 21 July 2013 - 06:50 PM in Help Me I'm New

Wrappers you create are usually in ~/Applications/Wineskin

If your wrapper isn't in there, you could have a permission issues with /tmp that I believe there are threads that discuss that problem. (sorry don't have link)

Edit: Threads that might help: http://wineskin.urge...s_parentId=3891 , http://wineskin.urge...s_parentId=3852

Is anyone else thinking that Maverick is a stupid name?
I'd take OS X Maverick over what it is: OS X Mavericks.

I've never really cared about these code names.
10.7, 10.8, 10.9 etc good enough for me, but I think using what appears as a plural form is probably really confusing to people outside of California.

#97306 The Wrapper keep going into not Responding

I will always recommend doing this instead of using latest development release.
You will often run into some new bugs in the newest releases and to be honest the 1.5.xx series have been rather wonky from time to time.
I'd normally agree with that reasonable approach but I've found that being such a work in progress, WINE will always have issues, stable branch or development, so other than some regressions at times in the 1.5 branch things aren't much different.
Of course, most of the games I ported/played are rather old so that could be a factor also.

I aways find a quick look at WineHQ for the game I want to port can be useful also.
Some of the things may be out of date, but you can also pick up a few useful tips you might need to do for your game. (specific DLL, patch, etc)

Well, thats definitely not mine. I use DanIsTheMan's Wine 1.5.31 engine.

I just randomly made one myself for testing

I think the one he posted the log from was one he created.

Kennycc, don't have this game, but I usually started with newest Wine and work back. So WS9Wine.1.5.31 (trying both MacDriver and X11).

For starters looks like you are using an old wrapper:

#97022 The OSX Benchmark thread Part 2 - a wine based benchmark

You mean Unigine? For some reason they don't work for me, I haven't tested much tho
Yup. Let me check if I still have the wrapper, maybe I installed a MS Visual C++ or something and forgot, but it worked fine using Wine1.5.27+ for me. (never tried stable 1.4)

Edit: No extra installs, just Unigine Valley. Just make sure you set WineSkin to run the .bat file, not the .exe in the bin folder.

Yes I meant those Unigine ones under Wine. Ran fine for me.

Why didn't you stick to using Unique Heaven and Unique Valley since they are cross platform?

#96930 The OSX Benchmark thread [updated!]

Posted by Headrush69 on 19 May 2013 - 03:03 AM in General

When disabling AA my results are almost exact same as Maddawgtut's. (not enough variant to post.)

How about also adding results for these cards for those that can run under bootcamp and under Wine?
I know I got about 1/3 performance under Wineskin using Mac Driver.

#96883 Creation of a blank wrapper with 1.5.28 hangs

He Zoroaster.

Thanks for your reply! I have tried Wineskin 2.5Beta4 without any effect.
As for my library, there is no Wineskin folder in my application support folder... that's quite weird given that according to you I should have it.

More help please....
When you create the wrapper, choose a Wine engine 1.5.27 or lower. After the wrapper is created you can then use WineSkin inside the wrapper and update to the newest engine.

Hmm could be a driver error?
Hopefully some other AMD 6xxx owners will give it a try.
It's strange because I can turn on anti-aliasing in 3D games like CoD4 and no problems.
The only other time I've seen graphic issues is sometimes Cover Scout does it too.

Everything else seems fine, but this demo triggers it every time.

This was a refurb directly from Apple, maybe it just took this long to notice an issue.

With my 2011 iMac, turning on Anti-aliasing (which basic preset does), entire screen is garbage.

Anyone else with this model and the AMD Radeon HD 6970 1024MB seeing this? Or is my unit pooched?

Copied Wineskin (see above) into $HOME/Library/Application Support/Wineskin/Wrapper/Wineskin-2.5.10Beta3.app/Contents/Frameworks/bin and creation of new wrappers works without hanging anymore.
Working now too but using Wineskin-2.5.9.

#95810 macdrv.dll or libmacdrv.dylib?!

How did it fail exactly?

I just recently bought the PC version and it installed and ran perfectly without needing to do a single thing in latest Wineskin.

It doesn't seem , it does run better the OSX version because the OSX version was designed for PPC processors , and has problems when running on intel processors :D
Actually, official update 1.2 Rev A added native Intel support.
The problem was the installer was PPC, so if you tried to install after Rosetta was removed, didn't work. (Simple fix was to Show Package Contents and run manually.)

So, my comparison was between Wineskin vs the native OS X version.

it runs fine in wine with minimal work required .
I would say even no work.

I bought the GOG.com RCT3 Platinum version for $7.99 yesterday.

Installed and ran perfectly without any work needed. Seems to run better than my native OS X version too.
