Unigine Heaven 4.0
Wine Staging 2.16 (dx9) vs MacOs (openGL) vs Windows (openGL & dx9) TEST

Wine Staging - Gurqn build (wine-staging-x32-2.16) - DX9 (MacOs)

Wine Staging - WineHQ repackaged (portable-winehq-staging-2.16-osx64) - DX9 (MacOs)

MacOs 10.12.6 - OpenGL (MacOs)

Windows 7 - DX9 (bootcamp)

Windows 7 - OpenGL (bootcamp)

MacOs 10.12.6  and Windows 7 on iMac Mid 2011, i5 2,5GHz, 6750M.
Medium quality used in all tests and with no tessellation. Wine is crashing on ultra quality - "low video memory". Windows test windowed only for screenshoot purposes but are same in fullscreen. PortingKit Steambuild 2 wrapper (http://portingkit.com/game/422) is used with changed Wine Staging engines. @Slice and @NRG staging libraries used. RegEdit DWORD “MaxVersionGL” 30001 used in Wine tests. Unigine Heaven does't start with “MaxVersionGL” 40001 in Wine Staging.

Quite interesting stuff, I wonder where that difference comes from especially in SM2.0 BTW, the score would be same with following staging libs? https://www.mediafir...98/staging-libs

Nice results. I think 3Dmar06 benchmark always run at 1280x1024.
Could you try WineHQ build just to see is it same difference on your rig?
To somehow combine your CPU and HQ 3D score would be good :)

Thank you :)

I would like to run that comparison test but have very limited connectivity right now. I will try that but can't promise that it will be quick and fast :)

Question: how does the 'repackaged' work? Did you do it yourself, and if so, how? Or can you pull those from somewhere too?

x32 version of 2.18 staging has been added to the repo. However, cannot build x64 version right now, somehow getting an error at configure stage, I will keep posted if I can compile it.

EDIT: x64 version of 2.18 staging engine has been added to the repo as well.

Re-structured engines folder and naming convention on Mediafire :)

Here is the brief explanation:

engines-stable > includes stable engines that being provided by winehq

https://www.mediafir.../engines-stable

engines-devel > includes development version of engines that being provided by winehq

https://www.mediafir...2/engines-devel

engines-stable-staging > includes staging version of stable engines being provided by winehq-staging team

https://www.mediafir...-stable-staging

engines-devel-staging > includes staging version of development engines being provided by winehq-staging team

https://www.mediafir...s-devel-staging

Stable and Staging version of Stable engines have been added to the repo

wine-stable-x32-10.6-2.0.3.tar.7z
wine-stable-x64-10.6-2.0.3.tar.7z
wine-stable-staging-x32-10.6-2.0.3.tar.7z
wine-stable-staging-x64-10.6-2.0.3.tar.7z

Maybe the 64bit engines work on your system but everytime I've loaded anything past 2.20 64 bit after Scopezz releases always gives me this wine output

To echo a question I'm asking scopezz? Do your staging engines still require the specific staging libraries that you linked to earlier?

rampancy, are you adding the libs to every wrapper you create? If so, there's a really great work around that will automatically add the updated libraries to any wrapper you create through Wineskin.

Go to the HOME/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Wineskin/Wrapper/
Right click on the Wineskin-2.6.2.app. and Choose show package contents
Then go to Contents/Frameworks/
Drag and drop your copy of the updated libraries into the Frameworks folder and close Finder out.

Now when you create a new folder with Winery the libraries will be automatically installed. I believe, in presumption that doh123 has not released an update with these libraries included in Wineskin Winery based solely on the increased amount of bandwidth it would require...which totally makes sense to me. Especially when there is such a simple solution to the issue.

Bug https://bugs.winehq....ug.cgi?id=41220 has been fixed with https://source.wineh...5e1720c6f145376 . That means that patching d3d10 and d3d11 is no longer necessary, because strnlen now has a fallback implementation for OS's which don't have it.

Thanks for the consistent engine updates Gurgn!  I am curious why you chose to add '-developer' to the newer releases?

Also, I have a couple of games that are no longer working with my staging-lib modified Wineskin Winery setup (like dankoB detailed in his last post here), but when I use brew to install the latest wine, the same wineskin folder works with it when I point to it as the prefix (using the homebrew wine).

Any ideas at all how to troubleshoot what staging mods might be causing the glitch?  I am not seeing anything particular in the logs.

Anyway, Cheers and thanks again!

With regard to the first question, I wasn't compiling stable engines couple of months ago. That has been changed recently, that's why I just re-organized them :) Due to having a very busy schedule since the end of 2017 I can't find enough time for helping about glitches that you facing right now including what dankoB has reported. Plus, also had problems with my Hackintosh so, I'm just only able to use my laptop.

With some delay, I uploaded 3.0 stable engines to the repository. Enjoy, please :)

Note: planning to migrate everything to the MEGA
