Porting Request:
I would like to see Wildstar. It has a gold rating. I was able to get an older beta version to work with Wineskin but after a patch it broke

Game Description:
WildStar is an upcoming fantasy/science fiction massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place on the fictional planet Nexus, where a mysterious and powerful race known as the Eldan have disappeared leaving behind a wealth of technology and secrets for players to explore.

hello there

i have no background in computer what so ever but i really wanted to play this game so i gave it a try

here's what i've got : using wineskin with winetricks ie8 and winhttp installed i managed to get the launcher running and the game to be download and apparently installed.
probleme is beyond that whenever i click the " play" button the launcher window disappear for a few second then just comme back.
at first i thought winskin was just targetting the wrong .exe file so i tried to use another one (wich for me seems to be the fix discribe in winhqDB, but again not much computer knowledge here ) but it doesn t change anything.

well yeah this is really frustrating since the game seems to be there (there s 20Go in the folder) but won t launch^^
any ideas ?

Yea the game is in open beta so i'm hoping someone can figure it out before beta ends.
I'd like to know I could buy the game and securely play till they hopefully make an official mac port

ok i manage to make it work

first thing revewing the log of wineskin there was another wintrick (mxls3 or something) that was missing, installing it removed the error in the log but doesn t repair anything else.

second in fact it s downloader/installer itself that must be faulty. i ran a virtual windows on my mac to download the files then exchange the ones i got from windows with those that were inside the wrapper
and hop! it worked.
one things i haven t tried tho is trying to dowload it with the missing winetricks, maybe that could have repaired it i don t know

But as it is the game isn t remotly playable getting 3 or 4 fps top, with massive envirronement corruption. Could be my machine getting old, but it work WAY better on the virtual windows i got, even if i only gave it 2 gig of RAM to run (wich is half the minimal requirement advised)

I have already pre ordered this game.
I might make a port once it goes live.
Previous experiences with beta MMOs has been not so great with games like Guild Wars 2 breaking something on every update.
Making it up hard to update it every day almost. The fact it's a 25GB dl also is problematic, as I have a 6mbit connection.
Performance in this game is horrible also atm.

With GTX780 GHz Edition and i5@4.3GHz I drop below 40FPs from time to time in windows, and this is a general issue.
My friend with i7@4.0GHz and AMD 7970GHz has the same issues and even lower FPS.

Performance has been greatly improved in the latest patch, also it is required to delete the wildstar folder inside C:/users/[your user]/appdata/roaming/ncsoft as it contains an out of date ini file that has some bugged settings.

Alas I have not gotten any better at fixing my wildstar wrapper so I wait for you or some other pro to take a crack at it.
But on the windows side the game is running acceptably compared to other similar games for me.

Adding my vote to this request.

By the way, they said somewhere that as soon as the game is officially out they'll be working on a native client for Mac.

Would love a working wrapper for this that I can double click on and it will download the game!

Tried to make one myself but I just can't get my head around it.
