Hi guys!

Have the following problem: I download the game for Windows ("Dying Light") and than as I understood I follow such steps in Wineskin Winery:

1. I create new blank wrapper with the 1.7.50 engine.

2. I open the adjusting .exe file and put in "C" folder.

3. Than I wait when the game finally executes and mark the root to open .exe file (WINDOWS EXE in Wineskin Advanced).

4. After that I set my screen option to the fullscreen (Use mac driver and use 3D direct boost are unmarked) and make a test run.

5. After the test run I've got my screen black for few secs and the following report:

Quote

err:process:create_process L"C:\\Program Files\\R.G. Freedom\\Dying Light\\DyingLightGame.exe" not supported on this installation (x86_64 binary)
wine: Bad EXE format for C:\Program Files\R.G. Freedom\Dying Light\DyingLightGame.exe.

You are using the 64-bit version, and Wine only works with the 32-bit version...

Probably, but I don't personally know much about the game. I just read the error message.

Well, you are right. The game requires Win 7, Vista or 8, all 64 bit. If you need any further info I'll tell you. I'm glad for your assistance:)

I mean, can I get 64 bit Wine somehow?

Not at the moment but if you look at this thread we have some dedicated forum users (Slice and darklord42) that are working at getting 64bit Wine running for Mac.

http://portingteam.c...ine-64bit-news/

Sixty-four bit implementation is available through Linux distributions but unfortunately Wine team hasn't focused too much on the Mac implementation of it...

Unfortunately there's also the DirectX 11 hurdle to get across...Dying Light relies solely on DX11 with no support for DX9...so even with 64bit Wine implemented for Mac we need to have DX11 implementation in order to run games such as Dying Light, Crysis 3, Sleeping Dogs, Wolfenstein: A New Order...etc...etc...ect...

So it's still a bit of waiting game...but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

It's obvious that you haven't read the thread ...

the game requires directx11 and Windows 64bit.

Wine/Wineskin (for mac) support at the moment only 32bit software and directx9.0

Which engine do you have configured that might possibly work on a 64 bit, DX11game? I don't remember seeing that posted at all.

The problem is not in 64bit as you said.
The problem is in dx11 that is not fully supported by wine 32 or 64 bit.

Unfortunately if DX11 was fully implemented, the 64bit system requirement would still pose an issue.
