Since DirectX is part of Wineskin is there a real need to add  dll via winetricks ?

Need for Speed Undercover works fine but during game-play there are a few texture issues/ripping.. Using Weapper2.62 on latest engine. WS9Wine2.22

Usually not, but AppDB or a bug log can tell you if some function is missing.

It always better to use winetricks for d3dx9_36 and d3dcompiler_47. Native one better then builtin in wine.

any reason why wintricks is favorable over games that come with directx ?

The ones that come native with game usually come like that for a reason..

For eg.. under Windows XP SP3 despite it has DirectX 9c, NFSU fails because it needs particular dxd part of direct x installer it comes with..

Therefore wouldn't the game run better (i.e graphics artifacts etc intact) with native regardless weather being in a wrapper like winskin or not ?

eg  This works fine under Windows XP with "emulated" graphics driver, so m only conclution why it has artifacts under Winskin is because I "didn't"  install native direcx components.

Yes a simple reason wine isn’t Windows.
Wine provides its own version of most files including DirectX but sometimes these aren’t enough tap a native version is needed.

While the DirectX installer works the dll files that get added won’t be used unless wine knows to use the Native version of that dll. Winetricks is the unofficial/official way to correctly install a lot of components that wine might need.
It’s to the point multiple wine developers directly contribute to verbs to winetricks.

Remember Wineskin is still just a front end for Wine.
