I'm grateful for the person who does this (This hasn't been done or has it?).

Honestly, I don't think it can be done, being such a complicated program. I remember trying to get it work through Crossover without success.

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy.  :)

Well I tried it with CXZ and Wineskin, yet failed. This program takes use of some of Window's more core programs:

The components download fine (I think). Then there is the installing:

And I get this error message:

Maybe Sony Vegas is just too complicated, or at least what it needs to run. Any other ideas?

Actually it works, but it's a little tricky. You have to install the dependencies separately, not trough the Vegas setup. The Vegas installer unpacks all those things in a temporary folder (Temp) on C drive (or Windows folder), but clicking Ok on that error deletes them. So don't click ok and go into that temporary folder (it's a randomly generated name inside the Temp folder, search trough it, you'll find it), where you have the VC runtimes and WMF redist. Install them and install the framework trough winetricks. After this, it will work, but the program is quite buggy. For example, it doesn't draw the waveforms for audio files unless you select the compatible mode for broken video drivers. But doing that results in poor feedback for the sound (the scrolling is not real-time, it's about 1 second delayed). Also, I didn't test the VST plugins, so I have no idea if they work.
I gave up on Vegas, there's Final Cut that does all that Vegas does and better. Doesn't worth the time to port it.

Why do you need that, if you can get the original mac Final Cut? Or even the FC Studio...
