Here is a new tool for all you guys with the crappy Intel GMA950 Graphics Chip:
The GMABooster:
http://www.gmabooster.com/index.htm

It overclocks your GMA950 on your Macbooks from power-saving 133MHz to the full 400 MHz that mac mini users "enjoy"
This brings about 22% more FPS in Games, at the cost of Battery Life.
Mac mini owners shouldn't bother with this tool, because their GMA950 is already @ max (the full 400 MHz, heh)

I'll tell you this before you download it. Messing with your Hardware Clock Cycles is serious, there is no guarantee that this tool doesn't break something permanently.

So all you brave Macbookers, you ready to try it out? :)

I fail to see how this could help Cider support, perhaps you could give an example?

I'll try it! I've done a backup of my system 10 mins ago... so here goes!

There's lots of stuff online on forums about it and no one has said it does any damage - I'll be the first one no doubt! ;)

Edit - Done it... not noticed much difference. I'll try playing some more intense games and report back!

I downloaded the GMA booster which accelerated the performance of  integrated graphics functions.
Compatible for Google earth.
With incredibility in performance in various professional applications.

Nice, I wish Apple wouldn't underclock so much of its hardware just for the sake of super stability, battery, and over heating issues.... I'll see how well this runs on my girl's MBook

Thanks guys!

Damn, i have mixed thoughts- on the one hand Id love some better graphics performance but my macbook is almost 4 years old (original core duo) and I don't want to F&%$ up the graphics card by overheating it..

On the other hand I have a laptop cooler somewhere, maybe I should dig it up and use it when I play games?

D'oh. If only I had known about this place months ago.

I'll give this a try someday, if I get around to fixing up my old 06' Macbook (HD is dead, keyboard needs new casing, etc. -- and the warranty is long since expired).

Yeah - has anyone done conclusive tests to see if it really does bring a performance gain? And it cuts battery life, right?
