UPDATE: 600GB
This is going to sound like an advertisement, but CleanMyMac only really works the first time, when it cleaned out like 40GB. After that, it was only good for cleaning out caches. Now I use Squeeze. It, in the background, when your CPU's not being used for much of anything else, converts all your files to HFS+ compressed files. The files... don't look different at all. However, it only works on Snow Leopard 10.6.4. Oh wel.
does cleanmymac work on leopard?

I believe CleanMyMac does work on Leopard. At least on 10.5.6, when I was using it.
PortingNetwork now lurks in the shadows... among us.

I tend to hover around 10 to 15 gig (out of 120) on my 2006 MBPro,
My previous computer - 12inch powerbook, died in the ass because I was generally operating with less than 5% HD free... I learned the hard way that you need to always have I think a min of 10% or so free, generally.

I just put an SSD in and WOW the performance bump.  The down side is that its only 120GB so as of right now I have a bout 20GB left.  Relegated to keeping most of my media on an external, but its so worth it for the performance bump with the SSD!

I got 350GB free (from 500GB) on my MBP hard drive,

But also got my old MBP hard drive, which is 320GB all free and my back up drive which has a 1TB capacity, just setting it up for my Time machine!
