Hello, I'm trying to port the game Shank using CXZ Ebony.

The game is working almost great. Animations runs smoothly. The only problem I've seen is with the keyboard.
I can select the options in menu using mouse and start a new game. But i get no feedback when using the keyboard so I can't control the character.
I pressed alt+f4 and the game did quit so I guess the cxz engine is getting the keyboard input but the game is not.

Any idea of what should I do? This is my second attempt to port a recent game and I'm way closer to get it working than I did with dead space.

Here is the log file content:

I have the same problem. The game works as well, pretty graphics with good sound. The keyboard doesn´t works. Where is the config file with the player configuration? I haven´t find it.

I tried with Wineskin too and got the same.

Also, I connected a PS3 Dual Shock 3 via bluetooth and I it works. But the buttons configuration is really messed up. Something like:
L3(Clicking the left analog stick) and Start to attack;
Select to jump;
R2 to open the main menu.

When I tried to set the button configuration in the game command i try to change is set to "-X rotation".
So there's a problem with calibration I guess.

Anyway using the controller I can see that the game runs pretty well. So fixing this keyboard problem the game wil probably be fully playable.

Now I'll go search for a way to convert the keyboard commands to a virtual joystick. If it works I'll let you know.

I tried to port. Turned to run, but the keyboard did not work and is strongly inhibited.

For now I'm using ControllerMate to play. I created a virtual joystick and linked its buttons to the keyboard. Works great as a temporary solution!

How do you create a virtual yoystick?

With ControllerMate: http://portingteam.c...edirect.php?htt ... ollermate/

It's simple to use the programming tool to set the virtual controller behavior. Basically you attach a keyboard key to a button on the virtual joystick. The only part that needs a little math is to set the X and Y axis.
I've exported my config: http://portingteam.c...edirect.php?htt ... cmate.html
In my case I used the following keys: arrows, a, s, d, f, left shift, space, right alt, right shift, <, >, [, ] and esc. Feel free to modify it as you like.

After this you can open the game and set the keys to the game actions.
Do not try to change a keyboard command. The game wil wait for you to press a key and since it's not getting any key press it will freeze. Make sure you are changing the joystick commands.

You just download that Virtual controller and it should run? Or do you need t open it? Sorry for the dumb questions, but i imported it into controllermate and still no input- so i must be doing something wrong :D
Thanks nevertheless.

i've tried to install shank myself using the ebony engine and the cxz builder or whatever its name is. Installation was dead simple and the game worked just great. At least as long as you use a game pad. I've got a logitech rumblepad and the game works with it just like that. I've seen in the options in the game that it's possible to change to keyboard. I've not tried it but just wanted to let you know... maybe it helps more than the virtual gamepad.
On the other hand you could as well just go get a rumblepad, they're pretty cheap.

Hello people! First post here, so bear with me please =D

I'm trying to run a port of the game Shank on my Macbook and the games runs perfectly well, but I don't have access to the keyboard settings. The game runs fine but it doesn't detect an input device. I can't assign anything to the game on the settings either. My Macbook settings are 2.4 GHz duo core 2 processor, 6GB ram, 250 HD, nvidia 9400m video card, etc.

The engine I'm running with the game is WS4WineCXG9.1.0. Like I said, everything works fine except for the keyboard input.

Regards.

Hello all! Any news on this game? I just signed up here, first post, w00t! :D
I downloaded CXEx and installed the game, didn't really need to do much config, the CXEx program is great! Anyway I noticed everyone is having problems with the keyboard and I can't figure out how to fix it? Hoping someone has com up with a solution other than the workarounds already posted...

I have a xbox 360 controller plugged into my mac using the Tattiebogle drivers from here: http://portingteam.c...edirect.php?htt ... /OsxDriver

I can use the analogs and the 'B' button only though in game, none of the other buttons register in-game, and still am unable to control 'Shank' once the game starts. Controller only really works to change settings etc. :(
