SGU was good... but I never hold out hope for Scifi series to last... seems everyone gets too emotional and just want some other stupid ass sitcom or reality show crap which is cheap to make and useless.

It's kinda sad that they put the end of it. The first season wasn't that good, but now just getting started to get interesting and it looked promising, but SyFy wasn't that happy about the ratings. Yeah it was nothing compared to the SGA and SG-1, but had and interesting story that, might needed a little more action. But after all they didn't had big budget like the other productions. Anyway I hope the remaining episodes, show that this show it shouldn't be canceled so early!!

Well, it probably didn't have much of a shot at lasting long when the producer stated that he wasn't interested in pleasing the Stargate fan base. (Kind of like George Lucas and Star Wars now that I think about it.)

SGU had a rough start, especially when every single Atlantis/SG-1 episode involved saving the world/universe.  SGU was more of a space-soap.  Just the last few episodes brought back the hard sci-fi element and it was getting pretty cool.  I'm interested to see how it pans out, and if the replacement BSG show has enough hard sci-fi in it to be appealing.

I didnt mind atlantis, it was kind of fun to watch as someone who doesnt really have any interest in the stargate franchise anyway. But Universe was awful, they tried this whole battlestar gallactica shaky cam style, but it doesnt have anywhere near the writing quality

The only negative effect the cancelation of the (awful) Stargate Universe is that he upcoming Stargate Atlantis Movie has been put on Ice.

I like SG1 and SG Atlantis to death but SGU just crashed and burned. It is a failure of both sci-fi and drama.

Agreed, I also missed the episode that the aliens kidnapped crew members and Rush was left on the planet...which really seemed like pivotal episode for season 1....Season 2 is definitely picking things up a bit but I'm pretty sure the reason why it's crashed and burned or been cancelled was due to all those stupid music montages at the end of nearly every episode...definitely the lamest part of the SGU series..all in all though it seems pretty good...it's definitely no ST-TNG though. I should start watching those again
