Cant install vcrun6 (CXEx Ebony winetricks):
The folder is invalid: Please make sure the folder exists and is writable

Error log says:
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
Note: command 'wine /Users/kungla/.winetrickcache/vc6redistsetup_enu.exe /T:D:\C:\winetrickstmp /c' returned status 3. Aborting

I tried many things, but nothing helped

I managed to fix this bug:

in CXExEbony.app/Contents/CXWinetricks.app/Contents/MacOS/winetrics

there is in many places a variable:
replace it:

And it works!

nice find.
There are some other cases other than the vcrun command that use this lowercase variable.

I'm not sure this helps generally because Winetricks is so buggy (sometimes a package works, sometimes it doesn't, and people get misled by the cache), but it's worth further testing.

Perhaps this works for some other winetricks annoyances as well.

thanks.. worked great for me.

also... you could go to http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks and replace the whole code of the mentioned winetricks file, this also enables you to get new winetricks skripts.

Where is the original winetricks file located if I'm going to update it?
