Some good and bad news:

CiderX 2.0 development is going on great.
But it is a giant project, so it is really not finished yet.
And Lion is released, which means I am in hurry for the next version...
Much time was used for creating concepts of the new interface/wrapper system/engines etc and the code (which is very complex, did around five rewrites of the whole already written code, my little scripts are nothing compared to this). Those concepts are finished. I have a pretty complete (and complex......) idea of what I want to build.
Here is the actual development process:

The CiderX Central App is nearly finished and will feature a little CiderX Blog window, Engine Management and Project Management for all your CiderX Ports. The Engines are also nearly finished (finshed, but maybe some little changes will get made during development). When the Central App is finished, I will start developing the Config App for the wrapper, that will be included in the Central app. It will open, if you select to edit a project. This is the main deal of the app as it needs to launch cider, wine (for installers) and to manage the registry and config files.
Developing this core features will not take many time. I can reuse much of the code-concept of the old CiderX. What will take very long is the Config Interface with all it's complex Options.

So here is, how I want to deal with this:
I will release Alpha and Beta Versions of CiderX 2.0.
The Alpha Builds will only include the Newbie Interface (see page 2), which should be enough to update most of your ports and to do some basic porting on Lion. This version should (I do really not know, how fast I will be) be released in near time.
The Beta Builds will get all advanced options added with the time.
When all functions are added, it will then get out of beta status and will be the real CiderX 2.0. (man, I will be so happy, when it is released...)

Just to clarify:
In the Project Management you can, at the end, export the project as a wrapper or full game, which will include only the necessary files. It will be almost a normal Cider Wrapper with a little installer.
(you can also export the project file and share it with other porters)
As long as you keep the project you can go back to it and try new cider engines or some new things. You should be also be able to backup a configuration or the game-files of a project for later use or manage different config-sets later. But this will not be included in the Alpha builds, I guess.

No idea, seriously. All Engines are now finished, I am working on a downloader for them, maybe I skip that and make manual downloading for a fast release, auto-download could be added later. Then the actuall wrapper needs to be made with basic fearures. Installer, Config, Tricks, Exporting. Then the first release is possible. Some weeks are remaining, I think.

So now there's basically the interface, wrapper structure, and downloader?

Not so far from first alpha build! I hope you're doing alright, and I hope your doing alright. I realize that it has been quite a while until the last post, but I just want an update.

Well, so am I! I am 12 as well. You should look into porting, it would help us to have two of a kind here! :-)

Sorry dude, I had a short class trip otherwise I would have answered myself.
Well GameGuy is right, it still takes some time. I finished engine downloading and installing and made all important changes to the code for supporting custom engines (but there is not a function to create them at the moment). So engines are finished for the alpha. I am currently working on the project management, so the part of the app, where you organize all your ports. It goes on quite well, but as GameGuy mentioned, it will take a while. I do not even think, I can keep the promise of a few weeks, because exams are starting again in school. This slows development drastically down, because this is still a hobby project for me. Remember I do this for free in my free time, so just keep calm. I will post updates as soon as I have some. This project is just slow, not dead ^^

Not given. I spend most of time on learning for exams.
So development is paused. Remember I get not paid for this.
I am doing it in my free time and developing is not always fun,
so please understand, that this takes the time, it needs.

Just the normal school exams to get my qualification to study. It is called abitur in Germany. The real abitur-exams are starting next spring, but now we are writing test-exams, that are talking the full time of an abitur-exam. 3-4 hours of writting and a wide range of things we need to know in various (not always interesting) subjects. That is not fun.

Ah, I see. So sort of like SATs here in America? Colleges look at your SAT scores a lot when considering to accept you.

I did this in photoshop, and created everything entirely in that program.

I thought that instead of having a preferences option to choose advanced or basic you could just have both showing at the one time.

Known Effects could be colour coded so its easy to tell if it's good or bad.

I thought that it was a good idea to have a iOS style on/off button. So i did it too. I have lion style scroll bars in their too.

The background has a bit of noise, which is like a lot of apple's UI. I believe mac app store has this and some pages on the apple website.

Because options in advanced settings would have more than graphics options i thought that you could have a pop up when you click on it, so that you can be more specific on what options you wan't to change.

What do you guy's think ??

Looks nice, I think that's basically what Drakulix is aiming to have with 2.0 (from last I saw anyway) except without the popup and of course advanced is hidden initially (not sure about revert/save).
I like the popup idea. Drakulix was looking for a use for a popup and this could be a very good use for it.

I think the on/off placement is really good too. Also gives more space for settings info.

P.S. Thanks for the tip about the noise, I always wondered why I couldn't replicate Apples plain background :P

Thanks. I think mine looks better than Drakulix :D
But he did his in interface builder which is harder to make it look really good compared to photoshop.

Yeah, revert/save is probably not such a great idea and maybe a little difficult to implement also.
I saw Drakulix's post about the pop up and i tried to think of a use for it and this is the only thing i could think of.

I also thought about not having that 3rd column to make the interface a lot smaller and when you click on something in the 2nd column and pop up comes up with what would be in the 3rd column (description, on/off button, pros/cons, etc).

I can try making a smaller interface in photoshop if you like, so you can see what it's like. That could be an option(small mode or something). For when you need the extra screen real estate.

P.S. In photoshop add 2.0% noise that is Monochromatic (grayscale). Well, at least that's what i did.

EDIT: I removed the save, revert buttons at the bottom right.
