I recommend getting into some old school games. The original Elder Scrolls games are quite fun if you don't mind the graphics. You can get Arena and Daggerfall right off the elder scrolls site, and I'm pretty sure there is a port on this forum too.

I really enjoy indy/smaller games on the Mac. They run easily and are much fun!
Aquaria, World of Goo, Gish, Machinarium, Cave Story, Jet's n' Guns, Dark Castle 3, Eschalon 1 & 2. Those are in my best list.
Also be sure to check out Deus Ex. Best FPS/RPG out there imo. Eidos Montreal are currently working on a third game, which is coming out soon!

Metal Gear Soild.
BEST GAME. I think many would agree. It's a Playstation exclusive though... but  I think there's one coming out for the 360 sometime this year!

I second the vote for Amnesia: The Dark Descent, inrcedibly atmospheric and wonderfully immersive. Not to mention terrifying.
Also, any and all of the original Lucasarts adventure games, most notably the Monkey Island series (Curse being my fave)

I think FPS/RPGs are called HYBRIDS... Maybe you should try Borderlands before saying that Deus Ex is the best Hybrid? 8)

I know it's not an FPS but I really, really enjoyed Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Really good story, excellent voice acting.

Both Deus Ex and Borderlands are on my top 10 list of games I've played.
Borderlands is newer and have a better choice of weapons and gameplay, but the story in deus Ex is far better.

Keep in mind I played Deus Ex when it arrived on Mac about ten years ago and I played Borderlands about a year ago.
You need a pretty decent machine to play Borderlands well, I played on a 2010 15 inch MBP wtih nvidia 330M and 8GB ram and it ran well, but it would be even better with a better machine. I played Deus Ex on my PowerMac G4 with geforce 4MX, it ran pretty good as far as i remember.

This doesnt apply to people looking for recent games but Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders, Maniac Mansion and Tass Times in Tonetown were my all time faves. Recently, Deus Ex (both), Assasins Creed 1 and 2 and FPS wise Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam.

I bought Psychonauts off the Mac App Store, and it's amazing! I hadn't really heard much about this game before, so I'm surprised by how good it is. Entertaining, varied and challenging gameplay, great story and some genuinely funny writing. Highly recommended.

Well, if it's a FPS you want, Star Trek Elite Force 2 Is Awesome in my opinion. 1 is pretty good too also.
