Any one managed to load Skyrim with skse_loader.exe? in Cider I changed my Info.plist to point to skse_loader.exe. It starts the game but  SKSE fails to load into the game.  I suspect the issue is with loading the dll file.

SKSE loads fine with wineskin wrapper. The Cider is faster though and it is driving me nuts that i cant figure it out

I guess SKSE is to Skyrim what FOSE was to Fallout, and if that's the case, it simply won't work.
The reason is that Cider only run fullscreen and is unable to draw windows.

Yep  SKSE is FOSE for Skyrim. I am sad it does not work and i suppose there is no way to hack it. Oh well.

What if we made a wine wrapper of skse and directed it to open the skyrim cider?

I don't think a wrapper of skse will do it.

might work if we edited one of the strings in info.plist to string to the skse_loader.exe

It should work if you use the Skyrim Wineskin wrapper . I won't work in cider because as chultz said Cider cant draw out windows :(
Although the link for Skyrim Wineskin wrapper is down so you may have to ask some one or port it in wineskin your self :D

SKSE should be able to load in game without the skse loader being launched but the problem is that it caches with the skse_steam_loader.dll from steam loading the game so I don't know if a crack will load skse automatically. Looks like wineskin is the only way to use skse and script dragon mods like ihud.

When attempting to load SKSE with wineskin wrapper on Mac OS X 10.8 I receive a "the application TESV.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close" error.  I really want to get this working and if what this forum is telling me is correct it is in fact possible.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you apply a no cd crack? This is probably the most common thing people forget about when using a port.

Yeah, I can get the game running when I point the wineskin wrapper to TESV.exe or SkyrimLauncher.exe, but when I point it to skse_loader.exe is when I get the error.

You don't need to run the skse_loader.exe to use skse...it automatically "grabs" the game if you can understand where I'm coming from but for it to grab you have to have steam running in the wrapper and launch skyrim via steam which means you have own it...other than that by running skse_loader.exe if should work...maybe its just the wrapper thats making it give an error.

I downloaded the Skyrim Cider Wrapper Torrent. It works fine, but I can't work out how to minimise the screen. Any help?
P.S. I am using Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

So, was there any resolution to this? Does SKSE run properly with the Skyrim wrapper?

Skse will run in a wine skin wrapper but not in a cider wrapper as cider wrappers can't load multiple exe files and draw windows like wine can.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm trying to run SKSE in a wineskin wrapper, and it doesn't seem to be working.  I've set the wrapper to launch the skse_loader.exe, and when I run the application, the launcher opens up a second application, but none of my plugins seem to be executing.  Specifically, I'm trying to get Elys_Uncapper to work.

I also have SkyUI installed, and the whenver I open up my inventory, I get a warning saying that SkyUI can't detect SKSE, so I don't think that SKSE is running.

Has anyone gotten SKSE working in wine?

Well to be honest I don't know. It should just work if your launch the skse_loader.exe from the wrapper but this would only be possible in wineskin but seeing the results above it looks like it simply wont work for reason we don't know.

Hmm.  Maybe it has do with the fact that SKSE is coded in Papyrus (programming language made by Bethesda for Skyrim).  I bet that Papyrus doesn't work on Macs.

That is a very interesting point but if its installed in a wrapper and the game handles the scripting and with the redists the game uses it should run.

i have gotten skse to run on skyrim for mac (for wineskin only)
-what to do
-download skse (i sugest starting with 1.6.6)
-put all of that stuff where it belongs(in skyrim derectory and in data)
-then go to your contents folder and click on infoplist
-find where it says something like this
<string>/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/SkyrimLauncher.exe</string>
-replace Skyrimlauncher with skseloader.exe so it looks like this
<string>/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/skse_loader.exe</string>
-then boot up skyrim
-if it dosent work then some things could be wrong
if it says skse dosent work with your res. ( then go and chage it in the skyrim launcher, note to change the infoplist back to skyrim launcher to do this)
-if it says update your version of skyrim then download an early version of skse on their archive builds (go one earliyer and see if that works)
repat the step above untill it stops giving you those messages(note. when installing skse replace all parts of the skse , including everything in the data folder)
to test if skse is working once it the main menu before starting up your game type in the consol comad getskseversion NO SPACEING adn if it givs u a reply that tells u which version than it works, if not than i dont know what to tell u but skse is not working for u

That is pretty much what we have been talking about in this entire thread was those same instructions...and if you know your skyrim version you can just looks at the prefix in the archive build on skse and easily file the right one instead of trying until you find the right one.

Great news. I finally managed to get skse to work on mac. I have used the wrapper from Paul the tall, and basically all I did was installing skse, and changing the executable. However updates are required to this.

Can someone post instructions that are simple enough for a child to follow? Don't be a douche about it, just explain things step by step without any shortcuts. I have spent  a long time trying to figure this out and would like some helpful help.
