I think there is too much purple in it to be ported. Wine doesn't play nice with games where too many people wear purple.

Anyways, back to being serious.

The game does use DRM and there is no good cracks that I found.
Also even on windows the game needs serious hardware to run fine and I suspect a port will kill performance on just about any mac.

i can run it in bootcamp in dx11 mode with 30 FPS, so dx9 mode should work fine, if we could just get the damn launcher working

Please try to spell things out... pet peeve of mine when someone is trying to convey intelligent information. Currently I'm using Bootcamp to run Windows 7. SR3 is playable with a Intel HD 3000, but isn't the best of framerate. Parallels didn't impress me. It requires way too much power to run Windows and Mac side by side and still be gaming. Convenient, but i lack power. Does anyone know what processor could be useful for something like that? Wish I could use a AMD 8350 for parallels in a Mac. They are so great for multi-processes. And I haven't tried CZX... not exactly sure how either. but I'll learn.

God, this thread is old. Love that it's still active after over a year, though!

In the end, I don't think this really that possible or that feasible, however much that sucks. If you have an Xbox or PS3, it's probably cheaper for that.

I'd still prefer building my own computer than getting a console. I liked how the older consoles had the easy access of put in the disc and play. The newer ones disappoint me with the talk of day one installations, installing the game itself, and just the whole lack of convenience that consoles give. They are becoming like PC. If that's the case, I'd prefer a PC where I have free reign and am unrestricted. But still, nothing wrong with getting it for console other than it may look worse than what a PC can do.

How did you get it to work, dnangel000? Can use please post the Wine Skin, tutorial, or whatever it is? Because I have been looking all over for a way to get Saints Row 3 to work on my Mac using steam with wine. I couldn't figure out how, so I came here. But you didn't say how you did it. Please Answer and post the Wine Skin or tutorial. Thank you.
