It's highly unlikely that this will work due to the garbage rating at WineHQ app bd

Even if you get the game to run it seems you need a perfect balanced system to run this game...my i7 at 3.2Ghz, 8GB 1333, and AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB can't even play this game at 30 fps. With the original game settings at any settings from low to high I get the same fps which is around 13 to 25 which is really laggy which kicks the nice cinematic animations out of sync. Rockstar really didn't put a lot of work into this one...can't imagine playing this on my mac or any mac.

If you compare how GTA IV runs to LA Noire, GTA IV is perfect. This doesn't mean it can't be portable and playable but its very unlikely.

I have a friend with the gfwl version of la noire and he says with the 1.2 patch the game has been unlocked...I downloaded the 1.2 patch and it is still locked at 30 fps and I have the steam version. The dx11 patch bumped me up to a solid 30 fps...the onlive version is probably the gfwl version.

Onlive doesn't use DX11 or even physx for that matter, so no max settings there yet.

It was a little finnicky for me even when getting it to run for the first time on my PC. It needs .net 3.5 IIRC to be installed the right way and I had to turn off DEP in Windows 7.

I guess disc version uses DRM. It won't works on Wine. And Steam version uses .NET 3.5. Installer will not properly install it on Wine. Nothing works. Rated: Garbage.

Resurrecting threads I see...if your using the Mac version then that's a different story. The steam version for me ran capped at 30 fps and ran like junk but the non steal version ran perfect at 60 fps and both at dx11. I also played the non steam version on a 670 as my 6950 cooler failed which could have been a contributing factor. And besides my 6950 and 670 blow your mobile 6750 out of the water.

I love resurrecting threads <3

To be honest i didn't even know that this was that old lol.

On the related note for this post, I was able to run L.A. Noire smoothly on Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro (since there is no mac version or was not at the time) and steam wasn't limiting me.

My experiences is that the DX9 version struggled to keep 30 FPS on my mac.
The DX11 patch did make the game run well capped at 30 FPS.

Oh sorry my bad I was mixing up rage and la noire. But the non steam version plays way better with dx11 than the steam dx11.

Sorry for resurrecting, but would someone give it another shot?

Maybe with a custom engine or in Cider / CiderX?

That'd be awesome.

One problem... They have bad DRM. They wont let some games run on rockstar's cider.

LA Noire has nothing to do with Mafia II apart from era the story took place in.

Also IIRC LA Noire doesn't use the same engine as other Rockstar games.
