Well, since the game is coming out, im thinking the game will be heavy required graphic card, due to this, will our graphic cards even be playable? like I think an error will come up and say "Your graphic card does not meet the requirements to play this game" its just my opinion.

so you think itll be portable?

Most likely as it uses the same engine as the last 3 call of duty games which also means no difference in graphics or requirements. Just have to wait till it comes out to know for sure.

cod 4 is the best, mw2 improved the graphics but made multiplayer unbelievably noobish, black ops was pretty good other than the short campaign, mw3 was just a huge disappointment, so what can you expect out of black ops 2?

of course!

every other call of duty has been, so unless this one is greatly different (which it won't be cause it's the same thing with more awesomeness) it should be portable.

Although, I doubt there will be any portable version to black ops 2 (unless you count the crappy nds versions) on the psp because of how much the Road to Victory failed

that gives us 6 months to develop dx10 and 11, wineskin devs cant rush the developments with wineskin. but I believe (I hope) cider can run the game.

Wine will not support dx10 and 11 by then well at least not in my mind as dx10 has been out for a while and wine doesn't totally support it. And I doubt bops2 will have dx11 as they would have to overhaul the engine they use and also if is a console port and they add dx11 to it it will suck for performance...its like comparing bf3 to la noire (bf3 totally smooth and optimized as its not a console port and la noire and laggy hung of junk with dx11 support). I will go with only dx9 on this one.

The trailer is always over state the actuall quality of the games graphics.
The graphics will be identical to MW3 cause they both run of the Infintyward 3 engine.
So it will support dx9 cause the engine they are using already supports dx9

There's no way we are going to have DX10\11 support in 6 months. The wrappers (and even many native games) hardly even take advantage of OpenGL 3.2 as it is and one would need OpenGL 4.2 at the minimum for DX11 unless you want to do all the new stuff slowly on your CPU. Plus many cards that people rock around here don't even support DX11 in Windows... you can't expect the WINE devs to pull miracles out of their butts you know?

My guess is that they will have dx11 option, not using full dx11 only.
As far as I know there is no pure dx11 games yet, where BF3 is a DX10 game with some DX11 implementation.

The only real difference from dx11 and dx10 is the tessellation.

many games can utilize DX11...that doesn't mean its required.  The fact they make a version for Xbox 360 means it'll probably support DX9, since the xbox can only do DX9.

IF Wine supports DirectX 10/11 in the next 12 months (and thats a big IF), OpenGL 4 support on OS X is unlikely in that timeframe. Emulating DirectX 11 under OpenGL 3.2 = horrible (the OpenGL 4.x standard has been out for a while now).

Whether it uses DX9 or DX10, i won't be playing it anyway. I think the game looks just... terrible! I miss the old call of duty... when people where still playing COD4 and COD WaW.

If they update a WINE engine or Cider to take advantage of OpenGL 3.2 then you may be able to get DirectX10 but then everything along the chain needs to support OpenGL 3.2 including anything that runs in the middle like MESA on Wineskin or whatever Cider is using to interface WINE's OpenGL with OS X's.

But like has been mentioned tesselation is a OpenGL 4.x feature. So OS X needs to support that too if you want full DirectX11 plus all of the above needs to support it too.

On the other hand, to be frank even DX9 support isn't done yet. Even later DX9 features could use some OpenGL3.2 or higher support as certain games use shaders not available in the way it's implemented in WINE\Cider currently. This manifests itself in missing effects like the ghosts in Singularity\Alan Wake and maybe even some effects falling back on CPU emulation rather than running in hardware causing things to be slower than they should be. There is however some overlap between those features and DX10. Like those missing effects are due to lack of Shader Model 4.0 (perhaps specifically the Geometry Shader that's new in that model). That's considered a DX10 thing but DX9 games are using it in DX9 mode.
