Official Mac Game Release:

Dungeon Defenders

The exemplary downloadable offering Dungeon Defenders is a perfect hybrid of multiplayer, action-RPG, and tower defense. It's available on Steam for $14.99. It's also available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, the App Store, and the Android Market.
According to Trendy Entertainment, the game "puts players in the role of one of four distinctive hero classes, tasked with fending off hordes of invading beasties by strategically summoning a variety of Defenses & Traps throughout their castle. But as much more than just a strategy game, players directly participate in the action-packed combat with their hero characters, while upgrading their statistics, gathering tons of loot and inventory items, customizing & upgrading equipment, and developing unique class abilities. All of this can be enjoyed in seamless online and split-screen local multiplayer, as players cooperate and compete through the story campaign and challenge missions to build the strongest heroes and achieve the highest scores in the kingdom."

Read on for more info!

Dungeon Defenders allows you to choose a class, then make your character your own by picking its name, clothes, colors, crystals, abilities, stats, and more! Each class is completely different in their own way, with different weapons, powers, and towers, and each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Do you want to level up your Hit Points, Damage, Attack Rate, Defense, Elemental Damage/Defense, or perhaps level up your base towers? The choice is yours!

In the game's story, "Long Ago, Etheria was once a land of living legends… Throughout the ages, brave warriors across the realm stood together against the forces of evil, led by immortal beings known as the Old Ones… After a titanic struggle, these champions locked away the power of the Old Ones, inside Eternia Crystals…

These legendary heroes have recently left their younger kin in charge of the common castle chores… Bored with their dreary duties, the inexperienced pupils decide to play… And accidentally unleash an ancient force that has long been dormant!"
There are wonderfully drawn story-book like cinematics before each level that tells what has happened and what will happen next. The game also has hilarious humor in dialogue between the heroes.

The game has a great loot system, where you can proudly show off your best gear in your Tavern, which acts as a hub to go to all the next missions. You can also obtain pets to help you in the main game! Every level has something different going on - one level will be in the royal gardens with flowers and shrubbery everywhere and it will be peaceful and nice and the next level will be in a condemned graveyard with tombstones everywhere - this game definitely has variety. Everything you do is recorded in stats; how much time it took to complete a level, how many shots you've fired, how many swings of your sword you've taken.

Here's the official trailer for the Mac Release/release of the first story DLC:

I wish you well in your quest to stop the Old Ones!
